The Iowa Heartlanders professional hockey team is seeking an Equipment Intern for the 2025–26 season. This part-time position offers varying weekly hours based on the team’s game schedule and whether the team is at home or on the road.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform duties assigned by the Head Equipment Manager, including but not limited to:
- Laundry
- Vacuuming and mopping the locker room area
- Inventorying equipment
- Assisting with visiting team needs on game days
- Assist in the set-up of team bench areas for practices and games.
- Maintain home and away locker rooms to meet team and league standards.
- Assist with equipment repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Approximately 15 hours per week (fewer if the team is on the road).
- In-person availability for all 36 home games (October–April), with the possibility of an extended role if the team advances to the playoffs.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior hockey experience or knowledge is helpful, but not required.
- Preference for students eligible to earn academic credit for the internship.
