The Iowa Heartlanders are offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced sales manager to lead a completely revamped ticket sales team to one of the biggest turnarounds in ECHL history! The Heartlanders play in Xtream Arena, a new facility (opened November 2020) with a capacity of 5,000 in the heart of the Iowa River Landing entertainment district, located less than two miles from the University of Iowa campus.
The Director of Ticket Sales will maximize revenue through the recruitment, training and leadership of our sales team to provide our fans with first class service. You’ll have a staff of five ticket salespersons and work alongside the team President as part of the Leadership Team, and will have league office support to develop the ticket sales strategy and plan.
This position is a full-time position based in Coralville, Iowa.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, recruit, hire, train and lead a sales team to build a dynamic sales environment that will exceed the sales goals of the organization
- Assist in developing, implementing, and executing the short-term and long-term ticket sales strategies of the organization
- Evaluate the daily activities of the sales team and provide regular feedback, training, coaching and leadership
- Provide guidance on the sales process with every team member, including assistance with prospecting, qualifying potential clients, presenting solutions and hosting consistent meetings with everyone on a regular basis
- Regularly measure the effectiveness of the organization’s various sales campaigns and offerings and provide recommendations for further improvement
- Cultivate strong relationships within the community that will encourage tickets sales and build a sales pipeline
- Utilize feedback from clients to develop additional benefits, address concerns, improve communicates and better the ticket offerings moving forward
- Represent the organization in the community at various events and work to identify new key community relationships and partnership that will assist in growing the organization
- Actively remain aware of trends and developments within our league and industry and provide ideas and insights to improve our ticket sales portfolio

Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Sport Management, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in ticket or other B2B and B2C sales (ticket sales preferred)
- 2+ year of sales leadership experience
- Experience with Paciolan preferred
- Sales-minded leadership professional
- Proven ability to build, develop and retain a staff
