Game Operations Intern

Reports To: Director and/or Coordinator of Game Presentation & Fan Engagement 

Position Summary
The Indy Fuel are seeking energetic, dependable, and passionate individuals to join our Game Operations Internship Program for the 2026-27 season. This hands-on internship provides valuable experience in professional sports, giving interns the opportunity to assist in planning and executing game presentation, fan engagement, and in-arena entertainment for Indy Fuel home games and select organizational events.

Interns will play a key role in creating an unforgettable fan experience while gaining real-world experience in live event production, sports operations, and entertainment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with all aspects of game day operations before, during, and after home games.
  • Help execute on-ice promotions, contests, ceremonies, and fan engagement elements.
  • Set up, distribute, and tear down game presentation equipment and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate with entertainment acts, promotional teams, mascots, and game night staff.
  • Assist with sponsor activations and in-game promotional elements.
  • Help organize giveaways and promotional items.
  • Support execution of theme nights and specialty events.
  • Assist with rehearsals, timing, and live event logistics.
  • Work closely with video board, production, marketing, and operations staff.
  • Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Game Presentation staff.

Requirements
  • Must be eligible for college or university internship credit.
  • Must be available for Opening Weekend (October 16 & 17).
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the hockey season.
  • Passion for sports, live entertainment, and fan engagement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation to and from Fishers Event Center.
  • Previous experience in sports, events, or customer service is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Sports Management, Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Broadcasting, or a related field.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in professional sports.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Compensation 
  • Must be eligible for college or university internship credit.
  • Interns will receive a $50 stipend for each home game worked.
