INTERNSHIP: Broadcasting & Media Relations Internship
DIRECT REPORT: Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer
(2024-25 Season, September 2024 - May 2025)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Florida Everblades Hockey Club of the ECHL are offering an opportunity to college students looking to gain real-world broadcasting, media relations & communications experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. The ideal candidate would be experienced in broadcasting, available to work between 20-25 hours a week during regular office hours, and required to attend all home games (in-person) & away games (remote work).

FUNCTIONS:
The Broadcasting, Communications & Media Relations Intern will be responsible for several key functions of the Florida Everblades Hockey Club's day-to-day and game operations. Assisting the Executive Vice President and department staff, this role will be responsible for broadcasting all Everblades away games, pre-game and post-game content, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in broadcasting work for all Everblades away games remotely.
Assist in operating website, social media platforms, team app, and other programs to fulfill daily responsibilities.
Assist in the creation of all home and away game highlights.
Write feature articles & create video content to be published on the Everblades website and other online platforms.
Compile game notes, bios, game previews, game recaps, and statistical packages for all personnel needed and communication channels following league requirements & guidelines.
Assist in media interactions with team members including setting up our live post-game press conference with media members, players, and coaching staff which follows each home game.
Assist in game night operations of the press box before & during all Everblades home games.
Archive/ track all media coverage as it relates to our team.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by the department personnel.

Desired Qualifications:

Broadcasting experience is required.
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and eligible for college credit.
Interested in pursuing a career in sports journalism.
Available 20-25 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and game days.
Demonstrated writing and grammar proficiency in AP Style.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work zones.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) & Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop)
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with Ice Hockey (preferred but not required)
Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency and quality.
