Director of Operations - The Maverik Center, Home of the Utah Grizzlies
Maverik Center opened its doors to the Salt Lake Valley September 22, 1997 and is the home of the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies. Maverik Center gained international acclaim and exposure as the host venue for the Ice Hockey Championships at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. Maverik Center combines the modern amenities of a large arena with the service and intimacy of a small theater. Within Maverik Center is a unique theatre configuration which can accomodate audiences as small as 3,700, while a crowd of 12,000 can be just as comfortable in the main arena.
Responsibilities of the Director of Operations
Ensures that all events are coordinated and executed in a professional manner.  Maintains on-going relationships and communications with tenants, touring staff, and public.  Oversees the hiring, training and scheduling of all operations management and staff.  Advances all technical and physical show information.  Generates  arena computer aided drawings and seating manifests.  Insures all systems within the facility are complete and operating correctly according to performance specifications.  Reviews and modifies policies and procedures for facility services.  Directly oversees all facility design and construction projects.  Ensures the smooth operation of the facility in all technical and physical regards.  Assists the management team in all phases of facility management.
Demonstrated knowledge of current management principles and practices in a similar facility operational environment.  Must be able to read blue prints and schematics as well as use various CAD systems and programs.  Must have experience in telecommunications, lighting system controls, building control packages, ice systems and professional hockey.  Five years previous experience in a similar working environment. business administration, management, or related field preferred.  Reasonable accommodations will be considered for those with disabilities.
