The Kansas City Mavericks are looking for driven, enthusiastic interns to join the team during the 2019-2020 season. The Mavericks celebrated their 10th Anniversary Season in 2018-2019 and have won numerous community and league awards since their establishment. Interns will be exposed to various departments and tasks, in addition to the specific roles of this position. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor, with the ability to communicate clearly to executives at all levels (both internally and externally), and take pride in all work they complete. The individual needs to be detail oriented, have ability to manage various tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines. The ability to work independently by taking initiative, recommending solutions, and making informed decisions is a necessity.
 
 The Mavericks take pride in providing a competitive platform for interns to grow their careers professionally, both with post-internship employment opportunities within the organization and assistance with placement throughout the industry.

 
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Must be available to work all home games during internship period. Special events and nontraditional work hours will be required
  • Assist in donation request fulfillment, and responding to donation inquires
  • Schedule and research potential community events, and develop new community partners
  • Interact professionally with both clients and fans
  • Provide first-class customer service on game days and as a representation of the Mavericks brand at special events.
  • Game day duties will include interaction with Community Organization of the Night partner, and assistance with other nonprofit programs. 
  • Opportunity to work collaboratively with and learn from other departments across the organization, including marketing, sponsorship, sales, retail, game entertainment and media relations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
 Qualifications 
  • Current college student (undergraduate or graduate). Must be able to receive course-credit.
  • Interest in pursuing future career in professional sports and/or entertainment industry
  • Self-starter mentality and desire to take initiative 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, potentially weekends
