The ECHL is seeking a creative and highly motivated Assistant Social Media Coordinator to join our social media team. This is a part-time hourly position and reports directly to the Manager of Social & Digital Media. This position will play a key part in managing the League’s social media presence, primarily with a strong focus on live game coverage throughout the regular season and playoffs on game nights.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about hockey, well-versed in digital trends, and capable of creating compelling content that connects with fans, partners, players, media, and stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the growth and voice of the ECHL’s digital platforms.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Live Coverage: Assist with in-game social media coverage, including clipping and posting real-time highlights during ECHL regular season and playoff games.
  • Strategy & Voice: Help shape and execute the League’s social strategy, ensuring consistent voice, tone, and platform appropriate content. 
  • Community Engagement: Actively engage with fans, teams, and other hockey-related accounts across social media, fostering a dynamic and positive community. 
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the Manager of Social & Digital Media to plan and produce engaging social content tailored to each platform.
  • Collaboration: Maintain regular check-in’s with the Manager of Social & Digital Media to coordinate schedules, discuss strategy, and align on goals. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work primarily nights and weekends, aligned with the ECHL game schedule. This role offers approximately 25 hours per week. 
  • 1-2+ years experience in social media/content.
  • In-depth knowledge of hockey and its surrounding culture.
  • Strong understanding of the digital content landscape, including platform trends, sports social media culture, and fan behavior. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify compelling content moments in real time.
  • Familiarity with the ECHL’s tone, style, and brand voice is a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. 
A set weekly schedule will be provided upon hire, with flexibility depending on game times.
