Position Overview:
The Cincinnati Cyclones are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable individuals to join our Ice Crew for the upcoming hockey season. The Ice Crew plays a crucial role in creating an engaging and exciting atmosphere at our games and events. As a member of the Ice Crew, you will be responsible for assisting with on-ice and off-ice activities, engaging with fans, and representing the Cyclones brand with professionalism and enthusiasm.
What to Expect at Try Outs:
The Cincinnati Cyclones require the attendance of an on-ice try-out to demonstrate your ice-skating skills and ensure you have the speed and agility to perform the job, skate the required patterns, and perform the tasks at hand. The Mandatory/Required Cincinnati Cyclones Ice Crew Try-Out will take place the end of September 2025 for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Dates/times are still being finalized. Face-to-face interview to follow the on-ice skills and ability try-out.
- During the interview, we will start out with an on-ice skills try-out affording you the opportunity to demonstrate your ice-skating skills and abilities through drills and practice of the Ice Crew's patterns.
- We are looking for strong ice skaters with the ability to skate forward, backward, turn quickly, stop, and who possess the speed and agility to complete the patterns within an allotted timeframe of 70 seconds during TV timeouts.
- We will wrap up with a face-to-face interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with on-ice maintenance during games, including snow removal.
- Support in-game promotions and fan engagement activities.
- Represent the Cyclones brand at community events, appearances, and special functions.
- Work closely with the Game Operations team to ensure smooth execution of game day activities.
- Interact with fans, including taking photos, handing out promotional items, and answering questions about the Cyclones.
- Maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm throughout all Cyclones events.
Qualifications:
- Strong ice skating ability is required (figure skating, hockey, or recreational). Exceptional skaters are highly encouraged to apply.
- Skates will not be provided—candidates must bring and use their own skates.
- Previous experience in promotions, event operations, or customer service is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be available to work most home games, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for hockey and a strong understanding of the game is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
