Position Overview:
The Community Relations Intern will assist the Gladiators’ front office in executing community outreach programs and strengthening the team’s presence throughout the Greater Atlanta area. This internship provides hands-on experience in sports marketing, event planning, public relations, and nonprofit partnerships. It's ideal for students passionate about sports, community service, and communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of community appearances, charitable events, and outreach programs
- Represent the Gladiators at community events, including school visits, youth hockey clinics, fundraisers, and mascot appearances
- Support in-game community initiatives such as Chuck a Puck, jersey auctions, special cause nights, kids clubs activations and player meet-and-greets.
- Aid in the creation of marketing materials, newsletters, and social media content related to community events
- Maintain positive relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, and fans
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Relations Manager
Qualifications:
- Must be pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs and have reliable transportation
