Director of Sponsorships – Allen Americans Professional Hockey Club
The Allen Americans Professional Hockey Club is a member of the ECHL, the world’s top Double‑A hockey league, and the official affiliate of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Ottawa Senators.
The Director of Sponsorships is a high‑visibility leadership role responsible for driving new business revenue, expanding corporate partnerships, and overseeing the sponsorships department for the Allen Americans. This position requires an accomplished, energetic, and strategic sales leader with a proven ability to close complex deals and cultivate relationships across the broader Dallas–Fort Worth business community.
Compensation:
Salary + Commission Structure: This role includes a competitive base salary combined with a commission‑based earnings structure tied directly to new business revenue and renewals. Total compensation reflects performance, leadership impact, and overall contribution to organizational growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Personally develop leads and close sponsorship sales with partners ranging from local businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
- Build and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting the full 50‑mile business radius surrounding Allen, including: Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Melissa, Prosper, Celina, Richardson, Garland, Carrollton, Addison, The Colony, Lewisville, Little Elm, Denton, Irving, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Allen, Fairview, Wylie, Sachse, Rockwall, Rowlett, Coppell, Highland Village, Flower Mound, and all adjacent communities.
- Expand secondary outreach north toward the Texoma region and south throughout Dallas County.
- Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and department head for Sponsorships, overseeing one salesperson and one activation coordinator.
- Meet or exceed new business revenue targets with a strong emphasis on in‑person meetings, community engagement, and face‑to‑face selling.
- Maintain and grow relationships with current sponsors while tracking inventory, fulfillment, and activation performance.
- Develop innovative, sellable sponsorship assets for new prospects and existing partners using tools such as Salesforce, Sponsor United, ZoomInfo, and other sales‑enablement platforms.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Team President.
Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
- Successful sales experience with a proven track record of closing complex transactions.
- High‑energy leader with a passion for selling and relationship building.
- Existing network within the DFW Metroplex preferred but not required.
- Experience presenting and pitching to C‑Suite executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work all home games and a full schedule of team events throughout the year.
