The Dallas Stars are seeking a highly motivated sales professional to drive new business revenue through the development of integrated marketing partnerships across the organization’s ecosystem. This role combines strategic prospecting, creative storytelling, and consultative selling to deliver measurable impact for brand partners.
JOB SUMMARY: The Director will identify strategic opportunities, develop customized partnership platforms, and execute the full sales cycle – from discovery and ideation through negotiation and closing. In addition to driving new business, this role will manage and strategically grow a select book of existing partners, focusing on renewals, upsells, and long-term relationship development. This role is ideal for a proactive, relationship-driven seller who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-oriented sales environment. The position plays a key role in expanding priority categories, building executive-level relationships, and elevating the Dallas Stars’ platform across local, regional, and national markets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Own the full partnership sales cycle including prospecting, discovery, strategy, ideation, valuation, proposal development, pitching, negotiation, and closing
- Prospect, develop, and secure new corporate partners aligned with departmental revenue goals and priority categories
- Craft customized, insight-driven sponsorship solutions that integrate media, digital, social, signage, experiential platforms, and hospitality
- Deliver persuasive, executive-ready presentations that clearly communicate value, innovation, and ROI
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective partners within CRM
- Conduct needs assessments to understand partner objectives and develop tailored partnership platforms
- Identify new assets, emerging categories and industry trends, and creative partnership concepts/fresh ideas that drive growth
- Strategically manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing partners, identifying renewal, upsell, and expansion opportunities
- Support long-term partner success while maintaining a primary focus on new business development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Partnership Activation, Marketing, Legal, Business Analytics, and Operations teams to ensure strategic alignment and successful execution
- Leverage the full Dallas Stars ecosystem — including American Airlines Center, Texas Stars, Dallas Stars Foundation, Children’s Health StarCenters, Comerica Center, Ryse Energy Multisport Facilities, H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, and affiliated properties to develop comprehensive partnership solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision makers, agencies, and brand marketers
- Represent the Dallas Stars at industry events, networking opportunities, and client meetings
- Maintain accurate tracking of pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and client engagement within CRM systems
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 5-7 years of progressive partnership sales experience
- Proven success generating new business revenue in a competitive marketplace
- Strong strategic thinking, prospecting discipline, and presentation skills
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working within CRM platforms and structured sales processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
