JOB SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Corporate Partnership team with emphasis on partnership strategy/solution and partnership activation fulfillment. The Seasonal Assistant position will be part-time from October through June and will gain insight and experience in conducting business research, creating unique ways to increase partnership value, and operation of a professional hockey team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate internally, with guidance from the Corporate Partnerships team, to design presentations for new sales, partner recaps, renewals, upsell opportunities, and special initiatives
- Assist Corporate Partnerships team in managing sellable inventory across departments and ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives
- Research growing industry categories to generate sales leads and identify new business
- Research partnership assets, new partnerships, and best practices through SponsorUnited
- Maintain awareness of sponsorship/market trends and knowledge relative to Dallas Stars Corporate Partners as well as competitors that are activating within other markets and/or professional league
- Become fluent in partnership systems such as DigiDeck, SponsorUnited, Trajektory, YouGov, and KORE
- Provide the Partnership Activation team with research, analysis, and insights that add value to current partners and help maintain strong relationships
- Obtain and archive asset documentation, photos, and partner records for proof of performance
- Assist the Activation team with daily tasks under the supervision of team representatives
- Execute Dallas Stars game duties as directed, including but not limited to: capturing photos, concourse table and set-up for partners, partnership suite set-up and hosting, assist department with partnership fulfillment, etc.
- Attend and work various duties at Stars Corporate Partnerships & Foundation events
- Serve as on-site point of contact for partner activations on PNC Plaza during all Stars home games
- Responsible for the management of the Partner Activation Calendar
- Miscellaneous department administrative tasks such as printing and binding presentations, mail outs, Partnership closet, and promotional organization
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and recent college graduates preferred
- Availability and willingness to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, Holidays, and available for most Dallas Stars home games
- Ability to work up to 30 hours per week
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other related computer skills required
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail required
- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, capable of seeing the bigger picture and developing innovative solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and support multiple high level executive positions
- Strong teamwork and team synergy skills required
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department
- A passion for sports, sponsorships, and branding is highly desirable, as is a basic understanding of how sponsorships work in the sports industry
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to both office and arena environments, with noise levels ranging from moderate to quite loud.
