JOB SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for assisting the communications department on game days. This position is not eligible for remote work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Distribute game day materials to members of the media, broadcast, and team officials
- Record and distribute audio recordings of postgame interviews with players and coaches
- Transcribe recorded interviews and distribute to media
- Assist in the setup and cleaning of the press box and other press-related areas
- Assist with overseeing press box needs
- Oversee credential check-in by distributing credentials and greeting media, scouts and visiting team staff at the Media Entrance
- Opportunity to assist with events during the season when needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, some college experience preferred
- Ideal candidates should be pursuing or have a degree in public relations, journalism, or a related field and have some type of experience in sports
- Ability to work flexible hours (nights, weekends, etc.)
- Must be available for most Dallas Stars home games
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands and Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to both office and arena environments, with noise levels ranging from moderate to quite loud.
