Position Overview
The Brandon Wheat Kings are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Digital Product Designer to
design, maintain, and optimize the company’s website and digital assets. This role is responsible for
creating an engaging digital experience to enhance fan interaction and support the team’s brand and
revenue models. The ideal candidate will combine creativity, technical skills, and a passion for sports to
effectively design digital products that resonate with the Wheat King’s fan base.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop intuitive and engaging user experiences for digital platforms such as websites, mobile apps, and online ticketing systems.
• Create visually appealing designs that align with the team's branding and enhance digital user interfaces.
• Build interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and test user interactions.
• Work closely with developers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and consistency.
• Conduct user research and analyze data to inform design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
• Maintain and update design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products.
Required Skills
• General understanding of key components of the hockey season and events - Including but not limited to regular season and playoff games, community events, ticketing renewals, drafts, etc.
• Expertise in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Strong understanding of user experience principles and methodologies.
• Ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Creative problem-solving skills to address design challenges and enhance user experience.
• Keen eye for detail in visual design and user interaction.
Preferred Skills
• HTML/CSS knowledge - Basic understanding of front-end development to better collaborate with developers.
• Skills in creating engaging animations and motion graphics for digital interfaces.
• Familiarity with sports fan behavior and engagement strategies.
• Ability to interpret analytics data to inform design improvements.
• Experience in managing design projects from concept to execution.
Performance Metrics
• User Engagement: Measure user interactions and engagement on digital products.
• Usability Testing Results: Evaluate feedback and results from usability tests to improve design.
• Conversion Rates: Track how design changes impact ticket sales, merchandise purchases, and other digital conversions.
• User Satisfaction: Gather user feedback and satisfaction scores related to digital experiences
• Design Consistency: Ensure consistency in design elements across all digital platforms.
Working Conditions
• This position is located at the Brandon Wheat Kings office and will require regular interaction with management, marketing, and fan engagement teams. Attendance is required at games and events to gather fan feedback and insights. Access will be given to design software, collaboration tools, and analytics platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in web or UI design
• Portfolio demonstrating responsive website design
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
