 The Chicago Blackhawks are seeking a Marketing Manager for Amateur Hockey and Fifth Third Arena. This position will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote growing the game of hockey as well as marketing efforts related to our Chicago Blackhawks Practice Facility and community ice rink.  You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent brand messaging and successful marketing campaigns. Candidates will use a proven track record in marketing, a passion for the sports and entertainment industry, and the ability to drive results to improve the marketing reach and visibility of these departments. 

   
How You’ll Contribute:    

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans that grow the number of kids playing hockey and increase participation and engagement in the sport. 
  • Develop and implement strategic brand and revenue marketing plans to promote the Chicago Blackhawks practice facility and associated programs, including the events and programs, classes such as public skating, and other special events. 
  • Lead and manage content coordinator, providing guidance, setting goals, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns. 
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify target markets, customer preferences, and emerging trends, and use these insights to inform marketing strategies and tactics. 
  • Oversee the creation and production of marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, digital content, website updates, and email newsletters, ensuring consistency and high- quality standards. 
  • Utilize various marketing channels, including social media platforms, online advertising, community partnerships, and traditional media, to reach target audiences and generate interest in Fifth Third Arena and Amateur Hockey initiatives. 
  • Monitor and analyze key marketing performance metrics, such as website traffic, program registrations, social media engagement, and customer feedback, and provide regular reports to management to evaluate campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively and optimizing marketing spend to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as media partners, sponsors, community organizations, and influencers, to maximize brand exposure and drive collaborative marketing initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Amateur Hockey, Cooperate Partnership, BSA, and other departments, to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives and ensure seamless execution of promotional activities. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging marketing techniques, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to continuously innovate and improve marketing strategies. 

  

Player Stats and Qualifications:    

  • Minimum of 5+ years in sports marketing is preferred. 
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing or related business degree required. 
  • Experienced in developing and implementing marketing strategies, conducting market research, managing advertising campaigns, and utilizing various marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and content creation. 
  • A strong understanding of youth sports and the general sports/recreation industry to effectively promote and market programs, events, and facilities. 
  • Proficiency in digital marketing techniques. This includes knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, content marketing, email marketing, and website analytics. 
  • Experience with managing websites and utilizing marketing automation tools. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating compelling marketing materials, interacting with customers, and collaborating with internal teams. Strong interpersonal skills in building relationships with sponsors, community partners, and program participants. 
  • The ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and adapt campaigns accordingly. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and measurement to track the success of marketing efforts. 
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics tools, such as Google Analytics to assess campaign performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, especially during peak seasons and events. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude for driving results. 
  • High attention to detail.

The Team:    

The Chicago Blackhawks started their journey as one of the NHL’s “Original Six” professional ice hockey teams in 1926.  Members of the Central Division in the NHL’s Western Conference and six-time Stanley Cup Champions (1934, 1938, 1961, 2010, 2013, 2015), the team calls the United Center home.
