Job Title: Coordinator, Programs
Department: Social Impact and Outreach; Foundation
Reports To: Manager, Programs
Location: Chicago / United Center (In-Office)
Hours: Standard business (9:00 am - 5:00 pm / Mon – Fri) with occasional evening and weekend availability as required to manage program events and activities.
Status: Exempt

Compensation: This role is budgeted to receive an annual salary of $50,000 – 55,000, with the final offer commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Role Summary:

The Coordinator, Programs serves as the lead program coordinator to drive impact and purpose in our community with key strategic partners across the Foundation pillars through our programmatic strategy. The Coordinator, Programs is a highly organized, self-starter that will independently manage operational relationships and is responsible for ensuring seamless execution of all programs that support the vision of the Foundation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Annual Planning, Goalsetting, and Progress Monitoring:

  • Develops annual goals and sets the execution strategy for programs across our Outreach initiatives in close partnership with Manager, Programs.
  • Leads needs assessments with our community partners in our programs and uses data to inform decisions that enhance broad engagement across our fan stakeholder wheel (including key strategic stakeholders like Chicago Public Schools, Chicago Park Districts, Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, and all community centers)
  • Establishes and oversees evaluation frameworks that measure immediate success and long-term program effectiveness.

Chicago Blackhawks Foundation Outreach Engagement and Coordination

  • Leads middle school focused leadership program (LEAD), focused on driving implementation and evaluation of three-year program with Chicago Public Schools and local community centers
  • Leads workforce development program GameChangers, and the additional Hospitality Navigator program with local high schools and partnerships with Levy, Malcolm X and UHICHI
  • Leads Sauk History Curriculum program and manage relationships to drive impact with Chicago Public schools, Field Museum, Gichigammiin Museum, Rockford Public Schools
  • Drives year-round partnership engagement with inclusive hockey teams and school partners including all engagements to support relationships including Red and White Game (Warriors); Special Hockey tournaments, practices, and holiday parties; Chicago Gay Hockey Association volunteer engagements; etc.
  • Manages all programming and vendor relationships and tasks to drive towards long-term successful partnerships
  • Act as liaison between internal stakeholders including but not limited to Corporate Partners team to ensure fulfillment of contracts with Pepsi, United, Constellation Energy, etc.
  • Oversees all implementation of all program related engagements at Fifth Third Arena including celebrations and on-site professional development for students
  • Manages all necessary information and data to support tracking of budget, operations, and logistics to ensure successful vendor and partnership relationships, reporting all information to Manager, Programs

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of program, community relations or non-profit experience;
  • Strong organizational skills in order to manage people and resources to complete projects; able to multitask and plan with an inclusive lens;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships and partnerships and communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including executive-level/constituents;
  • Ability to foster a positive team culture, work well with and collaborate across teams within an organization;
  • A demonstrated ability to manage effectively towards outcomes, including setting and supporting drive towards long-term & short-term goals;
  • Demonstrates excellent personal motivation and encourages others to be motivated and enthusiastic; shows persistence and overcomes obstacles
  • Identifies and resolves issues in a timely manner; ability to develop solutions quickly and effectively
  • Ability to build trust inside and outside the organization; conduct work through honest communication and maintain the organization’s values

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to adapt to occasional variations in schedule including working nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate based on the event calendar.
