As part of the newly added Lenovo Club, you will be a vital member of a new culinary team at the Lenovo center. Working in a team atmosphere and following instruction is crucial in this role. You will work closely with the Chef and Sous Chef to ensure the best possible experience for Lenovo event attendees.
Key Duties and responsibilities:
- Come to work on time, and prepared for your shift in proper uniform
- Quickly become efficient in specified preparation of all menu items and ask for assistance when needed
- Follow a given recipe and quality standard and prepare various food items, including vegetables, poultry, meats, and seafood for cooking using different methods and kitchen equipment such as ovens, broilers, fryers and grills
- Stock and manage assigned food station(s) and ensure quality of food served
- Physically inspect and see all food sent from the kitchen and make requisitions for food items and supplies that are needed
- Understand and adhere to Lenovo Center policies, processes, cooking methods, standard portion sizes, and kitchen rules and quality standards
- Ensure sufficient amount of food products are stocked and maintained at line stations to facilitate a smooth service period
- Ensure proper menu adhesion
- Keep a positive relationship with FOH staff and event attendees
- Properly store, rotate, and manage all food products following local, state, federal, and Lenovo Center guidelines
- Help in food prep tasks when needed
- Ensure proper closure of kitchen by following supervisory instruction
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 2 years of previous cook/prep experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends. And holidays as needed
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Demonstrate sound moral and ethical principles at work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment without losing composure still maintaining high quality standards
- Exhibits excellent cooking skills and knowledge of different cooking method
- Competent at creating and upholding a safe working environment
- Able to re-stock all items as required throughout your shift
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with fellow staff
- Good math and written communication skills
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Have reliable transportation to and from work
- ServSafe Certified preferred
- Must pass a criminal background check
This position pays $17/hr plus a small amount of tips.
