Summary
Working as a member of the video team within the content department, this position will be responsible for shooting and editing video for the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, and other related properties. The Videographer/Editor will use their expertise to tell compelling visual stories that engage fans and support brand standards.
This individual will have a keen eye for cinematic composition, coupled with a strong technical know-how of video production equipment and practices. They will also retain a flair for creative storytelling and demonstrate resourcefulness in finding the best assets to elevate their editing. The ability to collaborate with the video team and work effectively under tight deadlines is a must.
Applicants should provide a demo reel of their video production work. This position requires various day, night, and weekend hours, including game day responsibilities. Some travel required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Capture a wide variety of video content that includes but is not limited to – live game action, documentaries, creative features, in-game entertainment, interviews, community events, and sponsored assets.
- Deliver edited projects to diverse platforms, including Sabres social media, YouTube, web, game presentation, and broadcast.
- Provide shooting and editing support for practices, press conferences, and media availabilities.
- Properly organize video footage and other project assets based on the video team’s standards and practices.
- Utilize Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative applications to edit projects as assigned.
- Provide creative input during pre-production meetings and content brainstorms.
- Support the plans and processes laid out by the Dir. of Video Production and Supervising Producer.
- Stay up to date on technological advances and creative trends in video production.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
- Minimum 2-4 years video production experience in a professional setting.
- Advanced experience with professional cinema cameras and lenses.
- Competency with all types of microphones and a firm grasp of sound recording for video.
- The ability to understand and execute cinematic lighting setups in a variety of scenarios.
- Strong video editing experience, including extensive knowledge of Premiere Pro and other Adobe Creative applications. A deep understanding of color correction and sound editing principles is necessary.
- Experience with both short and long form storytelling is preferred.
- Familiarity with Frame.io, Iconik, or other media management tools.
- Valid Driver’s License and Passport

Compensation:
This role is hourly and pays between $24.49 – $27.88 per hour. This role is eligible for overtime and any hours worked over forty (40) in a week will be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Note: Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set and internal equity.
