Social Media Coordinator
Summary
The Social Media Coordinator will be a crucial member of the social media team, contributing to day-to-day coverage of Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bandits, and other related properties. This individual will have strong knowledge of and experience with social media platforms, content creation, and grammar.
This position requires various day, night, and weekend hours, including game day responsibilities and travel.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Social Media Manager in day-to-day programming across all Sabres social media platforms
- Work directly with Social Media Manager on a daily basis to ideate and execute coverage plans for Sabres practices, games, and other events – including team travel to away games and community events
- Contribute to the posting of content on Sabres social media platforms, including ideating captions that frame content in a compelling and engaging manner
- Manage and act as point person for ancillary accounts including team dog, Sabretooth, and Sabres Store
- Contribute to the execution of timely completion and high standard of all sponsorship, community, and marketing social media initiatives
- Lead strategy and execution of Buffalo Bandits social media
- Work directly with the Social Media Manager and Director of Social Media to effectively establish a consistent voice across all Buffalo Bandits channels
- Act as staff liaison and assist in script writing for The Dhane & Josh Show
- Work directly with the video team to establish workflows for Bandits game and event coverage
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and cultural moments to inform content opportunities and maintain brand relevance
- Assist with Sabres & Bandits influencer strategy and implementation
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Other duties as requested or assigned
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
- A Bachelors degree in Communications, Sports Management, Public Relations, or similar field
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience managing brand social media accounts
- Available to work evening, weekend, holiday hours as needed (including travel)
- Great understanding of social media platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Premiere
- Strong understanding of social-first video content
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Knowledge of the sport of hockey / the NHL a plus
Critical Competencies
- Strong attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- General knowledge of Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere
- Passionate about customer service
- Must be dependable, willing to take initiative, and adapt to a variety of situations including a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
- This role will pay between $22.91 - $24.00 per hour and is eligible for overtime. Note: Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set and internal equity.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This role operates in both an office setting and in a live events setting. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds.
Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 20 pounds.
