Retail Associate
Summary
The Sales Associate is responsible for providing first-in-class service to all fans within any merchandise space during all events at KeyBank Center, including Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits games, concerts, and a variety of other special events. To excel in this role, a qualified candidate must have high attention to detail, a strong work ethic, be outgoing, and willing to talk to people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for answering customer questions and providing assistance to customers at point of sale (POS) system.
- Be familiar with store merchandise to speak knowledgeably to customers, be willing to learn about special items we carry such as jerseys differences and sizing along with vendor recognition.
- Assist with store merchandising, product display, inventory levels, and store cleanliness.
- Assisting with warehouse duties, such as: receiving merchandise, verifying packaging slips, tagging items, creating box labels and maintaining inventory controls.
- Ensure that customers are serviced at the highest level. Being able to recognize when you need more help from other associates or management to maintain a fast service pace and excellent service during work shifts.
- Communicate any stock needs to the appropriate staff member in charge of your workstation in a timely manner.
- Being aware of your surroundings to prevent any workplace issues with staff, store maintenance concerns, and potential customer issues.
- Always maintain a professional attitude and appearance. Following all expectations of work schedule and policies.
- Perform all duties as assigned, and being proactive in asking for assistance. Being able to be self-sufficient and reliable when asked to complete a task.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Completing all workplace training in a timely manner and staying up to date on all work-related emails that are sent out to staff.
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Point of Sale Terminal (POS) system experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to address and resolve customer issues.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn and push selling points of product.
- Ability to maintain focus and work ethic while working in a fast paced, crowded, and often changing team environment.

Compensation
This role pays $16.00 an hour. This is a part-time role and must have the flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment & Physical Demands.
This role operates in both a warehouse setting and in a live events setting. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds.
Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving boxes up to 50 pounds.
Candidate must be able to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time.
Candidate must adhere to all arena rules that are written in your employee handbook.
