Summary

Responsible for assisting the Sr. Director of Lacrosse Operations and Coordinator of Lacrosse Operations with all day-to-day business and lacrosse operations of the Buffalo Bandits. Acts as the primary Media Relations contact for the NLL’s Buffalo Bandits, creating and executing team messaging and serving as editor of all team publications.

Duties & Responsibilities

Actively nurture relationships with amateur and youth lacrosse program personnel, players and families and ensure Bandits programs meet the local lacrosse community’s needs.
Serve as primary PR contact for all Bandits players, coaches, and personnel, while working with Sabres Sr. Director of Communications to ensure communication strategy reflects the organization’s greater strategic vision.
Assist with all Bandits outreach events including community events, youth lacrosse clinics, media appearances, and various player appearances.
Coordinate and fulfill all donation requests for local charities and fundraisers.
Help maintain auction website to include collecting and photographing auction items, listing all items, preparing year-long auction schedule and distributing items to action winners.
Work closely with the team’s media and content department to ensure consistent messaging and content across all web and social channels.
Research, write, and edit key documents including game notes, press releases, media advisories, fact sheets
Produce and cultivate content for Bandits Youth Lacrosse and Upstate Collegiate Box Lacrosse social media outlets and websites.
Assist group ticket sales with contacting local youth lacrosse organizations for group ticket initiatives.
Oversee all PR-related gameday duties including credentialling and press box operations.
Assist in coordinating the Jr. Bandits Tournament team and Box Lacrosse League to include tryouts, floor time rental, recruiting coaches and keeping parents up to date with tournament schedules, practices and events.
At times, travel to road games and team practices to handle media relations efforts, logistical issues that may come up with flights, hotels, bus, team meals, and player tickets while acting as the in-arena liaison between the Bandits and the home team.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in Sports Management preferred.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends and all Bandits home games.
Potential to travel with team as needed.

Compensation

The pay for this role is 16.1346 to 22.1851, NOTE: Wages will be determined based on factors such as candidate experience, qualifications, skill set and internal equity.
