DIRECTOR OF RECRUITING AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

ORGANIZATION
 
The St. James Performance Academy (TSJPA) is an innovative college preparatory sports academy designed to provide unparalleled-development opportunities for dedicated middle and high school student athletes.  https://www.thestjames.com/academy
 
Director of Recruiting and Enrollment Management
 
The Director of Recruiting and Enrollment Management will work with Academy leaders and coaches to create and implement a recruiting and admission program that is consistent with the mission, responsive to the Academy’s needs, and welcoming and helpful to families interested in seeking admission.
 
COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING
Duties include:
  • Developing comprehensive recruiting and admission strategy to drive application and enrollment growth,
  • Preparing admission and promotional materials, including the website, admission brochures, application forms,
  • Helping to plan and effectively implement admission events,
  • Representing the school in the community by visiting and/or speaking at feeder schools, school fairs, and other events,
  • Utilizing a variety of platforms to maximize awareness of TSJPA, and
  • Creating a successful communication plan to further increase the level of parental satisfaction and strengthen positive word of mouth.
 
ADMISSION PROCESS MANAGEMENT
 
The Director of Recruiting and Enrollment Management drives the admission process from creating awareness of the Academy through point of inquiry through enrollment in collaboration with Academy leadership and sports coaches.
 
Duties include:
  • Maintaining the online admission system from point of inquiry through enrollment,
  • Tracking and coordinating a timely, systematic, and efficient response to all admission inquiries—including response by email, telephone, and mail,
  • Scheduling and planning applicant visits,
  • Maintaining positive communication to support prospective families throughout the admission process,
  • Conduct interviews with applicant and families,
  • Collaboration and coordination with sports coaches in the development and execution of sports driven recruiting efforts,
  • Coordination of admission committee review of applicant files and subsequent selection of candidates for admission,
  • Lead implementation on the Application/Admission systems,
  • Preparation of admission decision notifications,
  • Monitoring returns from admission offers,
  • Collecting statistical information on admission, retention, attrition, and matriculation,
  • Field financial aid inquiries and provide information to families as needed through the process.
REQUIREMENTS
 
A successful candidate for the position of Director of Recruiting and Enrollment Management will demonstrate:
  • Attainment of at least a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field,
  • Strong knowledge of how independent schools work, preferably with experience as a teacher and/or administrator,
  • The willingness and ability to learn the details and benefits of TSJPA educational and sports program and to convey them to prospective families with skill and enthusiasm,
  • A determination to assist prospective families in navigating the independent school admission and financial aid processes by offering knowledge, understanding, thoughtfulness and care,
  • The ability to communicate effectively with parents and families from a variety of racial, ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and
  • Strong technology skills, including Microsoft and database management.
