Manager of Leagues and Clubs
Reports To: Director of Sports Programs

Salary Range: $40,000-50,000
Position Overview
The Manager of Leagues and Clubs oversees the planning, execution, and growth of SPIRE’s league and club programs across multiple sports. This role ensures operational excellence, delivers exceptional participant experiences, and builds strong partnerships with coaches, athletes, and governing bodies. The manager is responsible for both the day-to-day administration of existing leagues/clubs and the strategic expansion into new opportunities that align with SPIRE’s mission of athletic, academic, and personal excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Program Operations
Manage the scheduling, registration, and administration for all leagues and club programs.
- Oversee facilities, staffing, equipment, and technology needs for competitions and practices.
- Ensure compliance with all league rules, governing body standards, and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient program delivery.
Partnerships & Growth
Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national sports organizations.
- Identify and recruit new leagues, tournaments, and clubs to be hosted at SPIRE.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote leagues/clubs, grow membership, and attract new teams.
- Represent SPIRE at industry meetings, conferences, and networking events.
Financial & Performance Management
Develop annual budgets and manage expenses for leagues/clubs.
- Monitor revenue, participation trends, and satisfaction metrics to optimize programs.
- Negotiate agreements with partner clubs, sponsors, and vendors.
Staff Leadership
Hire, train, and manage part-time/seasonal staff, officials, and volunteers.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, sportsmanship, and customer service.
- Provide ongoing professional development and training opportunities for staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience managing sports leagues, clubs, or large-scale athletic programs.
- Strong knowledge of league operations, scheduling software, and tournament management tools.
- Proven ability to grow programs and build strong community relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
