About this role: 

  • The USGA is excited to open a Gift Shop on our newly opened Pinehurst, NC campus, within the USGA Experience and World Golf Hall of Fame. The Coordinator, Retail Operations will support the Manager, Retail in running the day-to-day operations of the Gift Shop. The Coordinator will work cross-functionally to provide superior customer service to fans and customers. This is a full-time role based at our Pinehurst, NC headquarters and will require working some weekends, holidays and occasional nights.

What you'll do:


  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all Gift Shop guests, driving repeat visits and long-term brand loyalty
  • Assess customer needs and provide solutions, offering in-depth product knowledge
  • Utilize upselling techniques to increase store sales, and working as a team to achieve sales goals
  • Manage point-of-sale, including processing payments, returns, exchanges, and ensuring all products are priced accordingly
  • Maintain a tidy shopping environment and welcoming atmosphere
  • Manage inventory, including receiving products and confirming accuracy, monitoring inventory levels, completing bi-weekly and monthly inventory procedures, pilferage, and placing special orders
  • Represent the USGA with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Provide support for other USGA events as needed

Where you'll be: 

  • This is a full-time role based at our Pinehurst, NC headquarters and will require working some weekends, holidays and occasional nights.

What you bring:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of professional retail experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, NetSuite, and Square Point-of-Sale
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, particularly between April - June
  • Ability to lift 20-40 pounds independently
  • Knowledge of golf industry vendors and products is a plus
  • Positive team player with an ability to motivate, manage, and work with others
