About the Southern Texas PGA:
The Southern Texas Section of the PGA of America is comprised of over 800 golf professionals representing over 300 facilities in Southern Texas. The purpose of our organization is to promote enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. 

One of the largest parts of the STPGA is its Junior Golf Program, with over 4,700 junior members and over 550 tournaments a year.  This program entails tournaments for the beginner golfer all the way to the highly skilled high school golfer.  
 
Job Overview: 
This part-time opportunity is focused on the STPGA Junior Golf Program in the Austin area.  It will include tournament operations with assistance to the Area Director.  Successful applicants will be well versed in the Rules of Golf and have competitive golf experience/coaching.
 
This is a part-time position consisting of 2-3 weekend tournaments a month in spring/fall and 2-3 tournaments a week in summer. The Area Director is responsible for assigning staff to each event. 
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Area Director with infrastructure setup/tear-down
  • On-site tournament duties would include registration, starting, being a rules official, scoring
  • Monitor pace of play according to STPGA Rules and Regulations 
  • Administer quality customer service to juniors and their families representative of the Southern Texas PGA
  • Additional opportunities throughout the year to assist STPGA Junior Golf HQ team at Prestige Tour tournaments, Drive, Chip and Putts, and PGA Junior League
 
Qualifications
  • Must be willing to learn and take initiative in tournament operations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Energetic and outgoing – willing to communicate with parents and members
  • Competitive golfer or coach preferred 
  • Must live within the Austin, TX metro
 
Compensation and Benefits
  • Staff pay varies based on starting format/field size 
    • $60 -$115 salary per 9-Hole event (based on field size)
    • $115-$140 salary per 18-Hole event  (based on field size) 
    • $35 per diem per event 
  • STPGA staff apparel and uniforms
