WTA Ventures is the commercial arm of the WTA, created in March 2023 as part of the WTA’s strategic partnership with CVC Capital Partners. It aims to build upon the strong legacy of the WTA by further elevating the profile of women’s tennis and accelerating commercial growth for the benefit of fans, players, tournaments, and all stakeholders in the sport.
As an organization we recognize that the intelligent use of data will be a critical factor in our ability to reach, engage and inspire tennis fans across the world. This is a brand position and you will work with (and manage) our Marketing Analyst – to define key performance measures, provide insight, identify and business case any required new tools to support this endeavor, develop comprehensive performance frameworks and offer insight, proposals and solutions that enable us to deliver to our digital fan engagement and commercial goals. This role is instrumental in shaping the vision, processes and structure that will enable the next phases of our growth.
As a business we have an abundance of data across all customer touch points. As we develop our team, we’re developing systems and frameworks (that you will lead), to help us understand it better, pulling disparate data sources together - and looking for opportunities to get better in everything we do. 
You will be working with and supporting senior stakeholders from across the business on a wide range of projects and will be expected to own and drive your own projects that can make a significant difference. You are also an excellent communicator, able not to just to interpret complicated data, but also articulate your observations and recommendations to multiple stakeholders. 

What we need:
We need someone who is as happy digging around in SQL databases as they are in analyzing site performance. Someone who can turn data into rich insight, with recommendations that can speed up decision making. Someone who wants to get under the skin of tennis fans and learn what they want (and what they don’t).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
Reporting & insight
  • Own, refine, and improve WTA dashboards by integrating data from a variety of different data sources and distributing insight and commentary to key stakeholders.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets.
  • Support stakeholders with compiling data and insights for board materials as required.
  • Work with the product team to develop measurement frameworks to quantify the impact of new initiatives and experiments.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources.
Proactive curiosity
  • Use data to proactively identify business opportunities within the customer and supplier side of the WTA marketplace.
  • Use commercial knowledge and analytical skills to identify root causes, size impacts, and propose solutions to changes in the business.
  • Enthusiastic about data, metrics, analysis, analytical trends, and driving business change through insight.
  • Proactively analyse data to answer key questions for stakeholders or oneself, with an eye on what drives performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity.
Platforms & technology
  • Work with external partners to ensure reporting is meeting the business needs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks.
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data.
Fast-Paced Collaboration 
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the digital team, as well as stakeholders from across the business.
  • Build capabilities that allow stakeholders and teams to self-serve their data needs.
  • Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
  • Manage and mentor one direct report, providing guidance, support, and professional & career development opportunities, empowering them to achieve their full potential. 

Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Math, Management Science or Business, or a similar field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a data analysis role in a global organisation.
  • Experience working with, and presenting to, non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience creating and delivering projects from scratch.
  • Experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong programming experience with frameworks, including XML, JavaScript, and ETL.
  • Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages, including Excel, SPSS, and SAS.
  • Background is not just reporting – experience in working with and/or developing advanced customer analytics methodologies, utilising all data at their disposal for a complete customer-first view.
  • Experience with using a tag management solution that is desirable, but not mandatory.

 Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Highly proficient in SQL and able to deliver insight quickly and accurately to the WTA key teams.
  • Excellent understanding of Google Analytics and other web analytics solutions.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the technical applications they use, and how to improve them in the future to make them even more valuable to the business.
  • Data-driven storytelling and visualisation skills (with tools like Tableau, PowerBI etc).
  • Attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding Excel skills.

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.
