Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Provide administrative, investigative, and safeguarding program maintenance support directly to the Director of Safeguarding.
  • Support the Director of Safeguarding in collaboration with WTA Legal, Member Relations, WTA Performance Health, and other departments in order to:
  • Maintain, implement, and expand the WTA Safeguarding Program and ensure that it is accessible and understood by all WTA stakeholders (players, player support team persons, tournaments and tournament staff, and WTA staff).
  • Provide support with educational programming.
  • Provide support to enforce the Safeguarding Program’s enforcement mechanisms.
  • Provide research support for Safeguarding Code of Conduct updates, mandatory reporting guidelines, and other Safeguarding Program updates.
  • Provide on-site support at tournaments for active safeguarding-related concerns.
  • Provide case intake support across email, staff, and in-person platforms. 
  • Manage, organize, and update all Safeguarding-related case files.
  • Collaborate with other tennis governing bodies (i.e., ATP, ITF, Grand Slams) as necessary and appropriate for case management and credentialing-related matters. 
  • Manage the WTA’s Credential Eligibility System (CES) in collaboration with WTA Member Relations and tournament staff, including the following:
  • Perform timely reviews of incoming requests to ensure all necessary information has been submitted and the WTA’s safeguarding education requirements have been met. Follow up with applicants as necessary.
  • Monitor the CES support inbox and provide detailed guidance to applicants on how to create accounts and submit requests.
  • Coordinate with WTA Security and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) to ensure the Do Not Credential List within the CES is up to date at all times. 
  • Provide training and education to tournament credential teams on the WTA’s CES process and requirements, including use of the CES. 
  • Conduct criminal background checks as needed.
  • Assist Director of Safeguarding in collaboration with external experts for consulting and educational purposes.
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality with respect to all safeguarding-related matters.

Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree or other qualification and at least 3 years of professional experience in safeguarding, social work, law, law enforcement, or other social welfare services preferably with a sporting background required.
  • Experience in investigations and case management, including conducting investigations, interviewing techniques, documentation, education and prevention programs and initiatives, child protection, criminal justice, and policy development and implementation required.
  • Experience working in compliance for an organization or institution, preferably in athletics, preferred. 
  • Paralegal or other legal administrative background preferred.
  • Understanding of and experience with trauma-informed best practices for case management preferred.

Travel Requirements:
Some domestic and international travel will be required throughout the year.

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours per week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday but may require some work on weekends while traveling.

The employee is required to sit for long periods; use close/distant vision; hear using the telephone; bend at the waist and knee; communicate verbally and electronically with worldwide constituency; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
