Summary:   
Reporting into the CFO, the Head of Strategy is a key role that will help shape the future of Women’s tennis. You will lead the development and execution of our long-term strategic initiatives. This role is critical in guiding the company’s direction, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the alignment of business priorities across all functions. This position is responsible for driving high-impact, long-term initiatives that support growth, innovation, and competitive advantage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Strategy & project management: Play a leading role in driving and executing strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the business. 
  • Analysis & Insight: Delivery of strategic market & performance analysis including board level KPI measurement across all strategic initiatives.
  • Market and Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends and deliver insights and recommendations to drive competitive advantage.
  • Board Engagement: You will actively engage with the board, assisting the CFO and CEO in preparing board materials and presentations. Your ability to manage and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders will be crucial in this role. 
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of long-term strategic goals and business plans, conduct internal and external analyses to identify growth opportunities and risks, and set strategic priorities in alignment with the company’s mission and vision.
  • Prepare thorough investment cases with CFO and senior management team to ensure WTA make strong investment decisions/ recommendations and secure fundings/ approvals from the board as needed.

Education and Experience:
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience.
  • Strategy Consulting background with additional experience working within a business going through growth/ change.
  • Experience of working within the media and/ or sports sector with exposure to production/ media rights.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel modelling skills, need to be a strong communicator and presenter.
  • Highly analytical with a proven track record in executing deals and structuring commercial agreements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including board members.
  • Resourcefulness and adaptability are essential qualities, considering the startup nature of the business and the need to work with limited resources.
  • A passion for tennis is advantageous but not essential.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional international travel

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
None

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.

Working Conditions
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

The employee is required to sit for long periods; use close/distant vision; hear using the telephone; bend at the waist and knee; communicate verbally and electronically with worldwide constituency; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
