WTA Ventures is the commercial arm of the WTA, created in March 2023 as part of the WTA’s strategic partnership with CVC Capital Partners. It aims to build upon the strong legacy of the WTA by further elevating the profile of women’s tennis and accelerating commercial growth for the benefit of fans, players, tournaments, and all stakeholders in the sport.
The Digital Product Owner is a pivotal role to the business, as we go about our ambition to create brilliant digital products that deliver for tennis fans around the world and meet our fan engagement and commercial objectives. With the responsibility to deliver the product roadmap, working with first-class agencies and in collaboration with our excellent Marketing, Content and Tech teams and with access to leading consultancies – you will steer our relentless desire to continuously improve, iterate and optimize our web, app and MarTech capability – and with a pivotal role in shaping our strategy, experience and performance.
To be successful in the role you will need to work closely with senior stakeholders, build strong relationships with external agency teams and be comfortable with ideas coming from across the business. Importantly we also need you to own and iterate KPI’s to measure and track the initiatives that are bringing the most value to our customers and the business.

What we need:
We need someone who can quickly get under the skin of the organization, understand what drives fan engagement, and deliver a roadmap that can get us there as quickly as possible. We need someone that can balance tactical and strategic initiatives to ensure our delivery cadence remains high through the year, and someone who can use data to evaluate and measure progress against a pre-agreed set of goals. Someone who is comfortable running and interpreting user research, mocking up ideas, briefing designers, writing up detailed requirements and communicating results. The bridge between Business and Commercial owners – with the vision and ability to detail the user requirements to put ideas into world-class products. You are someone who is passionate about product development and who wants to deliver best-in-class fan experiences as well as commercial success.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
 Digital Product Growth:
  • Shape and evolve the product vision alongside the VP Digital.
  • Build, maintain, size, and own the product roadmap with responsibility for delivering the plan, and ensuring it is clearly understood by all relevant teams.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy.
  • Analyse current performance data and conduct user research to build out action-oriented plans.
  • Oversee requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value and impact.
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.
  • Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
  • Inspire and motivate supporting teams to deliver exceptional work.
  • Ensure our MarTech and AdTech deliver to business goals, owning the management and portfolio across different third providers.
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Quickly build and maintain a strong relationship with external agency teams to ensure everyone is bought into the vision and is focused on delivering to a high standard and at a high cadence.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, development, marketing, and Tech to continuously enhance the site and functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to understand the wider strategy and goals, as well as provide support where needed.
Experimentation & Innovation: 
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the role, exploring innovative digital strategies, taking calculated risks, and driving transformative change within the company.
  • Leading and driving experimentation projects with relevant stakeholders.
Fan Understanding and Experience: 
  • Translate customer insights into functional and business requirements that can be used to deliver your initiatives.
  • Conduct regular user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams throughout the process.
  • Analyse fan behavior and feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to increase fan satisfaction and drive habitual visits.
Data Analysis and Insights: 
  • Utilize data analytics tools and metrics to monitor performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate actionable insights. 
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of product initiatives, make data-driven decisions, and iterate on strategies to optimize results.
Digital Marketing & CRM: 
  • Support digital marketing initiatives to drive traffic and engagement across various online channels, developing journeys that deliver the best experiences for fans and outcomes for the business.
  • Deliver search engine optimization (SEO) initiatives as a key channel to reach new audiences.
  • Work with marketing teams to develop positioning, messaging and creative, to ensure initiatives are a success and achieve their goals.

 Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in digital product management or similar role.
  • Experience in usability and customer-focused design.

 Required Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management.
  • Understanding of business value related to features and functions.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and make insight-driven decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the digital marketing landscape, including SEO, SEM, social media, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Good understanding of ecommerce platforms, technologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of current digital marketing trends and emerging technologies, with a commitment to staying ahead of industry developments.

Travel Requirements:
Supervisory Responsibilities: 
Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.
