Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator contributes to the global advancement of women's tennis by posting engaging content and staying at the forefront of social trends. Most importantly, this position will require the ability to leverage key narratives within the WTA season and present them in a social-first manner.
The Social Media Coordinator will mainly be supporting live competition coverage across WTA social channels: Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for producing and publishing content to help meet our tournament coverage objectives while engaging and growing our global fan base.
The role will require a flexible working approach and a strong knowledge of the women’s tennis landscape. This is a fully remote role, which may require travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day publishing across WTA social media channels, with focus on live tournament coverage across global WTA tournaments
- Day-to-day collaboration across departments, including Creative, Editorial and Production
- Assist the Social Media department with special projects and campaigns, asset creation, basic video editing and community management
- Participate in ideation sessions and pitch content ideas for players and tournaments
- Publish and/or schedule corporate partner content
- Coordinate social content delivery to players and tournaments
- Be the guardian of the WTA's tone of voice on our social media platforms
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital media, journalism, video production or related field of study required
- Experience publishing social media content for a brand/team/league, preferably in live sports
Required Skills and Competencies:
- 2+ years of experience in social media and content creation, ideally in a ‘live’ format
- Working proficiency of Adobe Rush/Premiere Pro and Photoshop for basic match clip editing and graphic template updates
- Confidence and accuracy to publish content across multiple platforms at speed, using content optimization tactics and social-first formats for each platform
- A strong copywriting capability, being able to craft creative captions for various visuals under time pressure
- In-depth knowledge and passion for tennis, its personalities/narratives, tournament structure and an understanding of the women's sports landscape
- An understanding of digital, technology and cultural trends, specifically as it relates to the wider sports social industry landscape
- A grasp of the importance of tone of voice and organizational values

Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday. Must be available for occasional evenings/weekends.
