Technical Services: Project Management
Working within the Technology, Professional Tennis & Corporate Applications division of the USTA, the Graduate intern will work on a project (or projects) that will provide a significant opportunity for experiential learning and and/or research. Through these projects, the intern will become fully immersed in US Open Operations and will have access to opportunities for professional engagement and mentoring by USTA staff in preparation for the 2022 US Open.  Proof of Covid Vaccination required.
  • The role entails transforming data to/and implementing dashboards and data visualization in Tableau to meet the needs of a sports organization.
  • Candidate will also be required to interact with multiple stakeholders to understand business and data requirements and interactively design visualizations for initial concepts and prototypes that can be presented for feedback.
  • Assist in database maintenance and data wrangling
  • Collaborate effectively on team projects and work autonomously on individual work as appropriate
Applicants must be first year Graduate student and have significant statistics and data analysis skills and experience. A sophisticated knowledge of business operations is a plus. Background with data visualization tools (we use Tableau), scripting languages (we use Python), and databases & data warehouses (we use Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle & Amazon Redshift) is preferred. Experience building data pipelines in a professional setting (e.g. internship) is a plus. Working knowledge of Amazon Web Service products such as S3, AWS Lambda is encouraged.

Internship dates: June 19th through August 12th
Salary: $25/Hr
Monday through Thursday 9am - 5pm, no work Friday
Hybrid internship with 2-3 days in the office each week. 
Candidates must have access to Wi-Fi during work hours and be able to connect to video conferencing when working from home
Housing will not be provided
