The Role
The Officiating Education and Learning Coordinator will be integral in ensuring that, at every stage of their career, USTA Prospective and Certified Officials receive the highest level of customer service possible while pursuing their USTA Officiating certification and learning and development requirements.

This role will fully support the current processes, digital ecosystem, and in-person learning experiences for USTA Officials while informing department leadership, stakeholders, and vendors in their efforts to redesign and implement new processes and digital systems.

  • Support the logistics and operations of all officiating in-person learning experiences by ensuring that key tasks are completed accurately and on-time. Tasks are on-going throughout the year, will vary based on the individual in-person learning experience and could include any of the following:
    • Processing requests   
    • Ensuring that the information on new experiences are accurately posted in the Officiating Learning Resource Center and available to Officials for enrollment
    • Approving enrollment requests
    • Completing all pre and post event logistical tasks 
    • Ordering supplies
    • Communicating directly with internal and external stakeholders in ensure that all logistical needs of every event are successfully met
  • Serve as lead liaison with members of the USTA Officiating team on the onboarding of USTA Officiating Prospects to ensure every Prospect understands and completes all of the requirements needed for them to become certified. Tasks are on-going throughout the year and could include:
    • Staying in regular contact with USTA Officiating Prospects on their progress
    • Keeping USTA Officiating staff and volunteers updated
    • Keeping track of Trainer availability
    • Scheduling Trainers to meet with Prospects for their certification knowledge check conversation
  • Provide timely and accurate information or recommendations to the Senior Manager, Officiating Education and Experience that is supportive of data-driven decisions regarding USTA officiating certification, learning and development, and overall experience for USTA Officials.
  • Be agile and support initiatives to integrate technology and other methods to achieve officiating education and experience goals.
  • Support the management of the USTA Officiating mentoring program.
  • Support the implementation of all education programs, including online and training curriculum.
  • In concert with the Senior. Manager, Officiating Education and Experience, maintains the inventory of digital assets used by the officiating constituents. Assets should at all times be relevant to the goals and objectives of education and training needs, easy to use and understand and maintain seamless connectivity and integration with each other. 
  • In concert with the Senior. Manager Officiating Education and Experience evaluate all contact points (in-person and on-line) for the USTA Officiating community are appropriate and in-line with meeting the goals and objectives of the training, development and overall experience. 
  • Liaison with the officiating department’s LMS vendor to ensure management of accurate learner records, timely postings of learning experiences, usable reports, and support the creation of an optimal LMS user experience.
  • Support USTA certification processes by understanding the USTA Officiating certification regulations and providing accurate and timely information to the team regarding an Officials learning history and development requirements.

Who You Are
  • Strong administrative, organization and time management skills are required
  • Ability to quickly learn and execute administrative tasks in digital systems is required
  • Experience with CRM and LMS systems is preferred
  • Experience with Cornerstone is highly preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred
  • Strong business experience, education/training experience is recommended
  • Ability to effectively and positively communicate and partner with USTA Officiating Department service vendors
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude to personal development
  • Excellent interpersonal qualities, strong service orientation, an entrepreneurial spirit and a whatever-it-takes attitude to get the job done
  • Agility and the ability to multitask while supporting a collaborative team environment 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and make decisions quickly as there are many moving parts
  • Must be able to, at times, collaborate with multiple senior managers on the same project
  • Familiarity with and/or experience with current USTA Officiating or officiating in any sport is a plus but not necessary.
  • Experience with the administrative tasks of a certification program is a plus but not necessary.
  • This position reports to the Senior Manager, Officiating Education and Experience and is considered exempt.
  • This position is designated as “hybrid/flex” and may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $39,000 to $48,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify.  The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
