Assist in the overall roles of the Creative Services department design, production, and archiving. The position will be responsible for supporting all USTA creative needs from USTA section offices in marketing, digital, advertising, and promotion. The designer will take the lead on all project requests for section marketing needs regardless of Program or product. This includes production of print, collateral, signage, digital assets for websites and social channels. The role will be responsible for fulfilling section requests regarding Corporate branding, Sponsorship, Grassroot efforts, Community Tennis (Net Generation, Membership, Tennis On Campus, etc.), and events and promotions surrounding Professional Tennis (Pro Circuits, Team Events).  Proof of Covid Vaccination required.

  • Oversee the development of USTA design work for corporate and local programing at the section level as assigned by Creative Director, Creative.
  • Serve as primary in-house lead on creative for all section requests for promotion of local programming, including print, digital, and social channels.
  • Works creatively and independently with final approval from Creative Director, Creative Services.
  • Assist in aspects of the production process with external vendors, including bidding, project timetables, press runs and invoicing while working with the purchasing team.
  • Ensure all areas of USTA comply with design policies and style guide regulations for all USTA logos, including corporate logos, Section logos, Professional Tennis event logos, Community Tennis program logos, and Net Generation program logos.
  • Occasional administrative tasks including archiving, supplies/equipment management, design software upgrades, and training
  • Provide input, as requested, on other creative projects currently being handled by external agencies.
  • Specific project responsibilities also to include: 
    • Assist in development of design policies/style guides for all logos and tag lines 
    • Facilitating graphic files for websites and social network channels 
    • Creating new marks and logos for local promotions 
    • Maintaining art archives and interact with USTA archivist to meet new USTA guidelines 
    • Build and manage on-line photo library 
    • Creating miscellaneous in-house ads, invitations, brochures, etc. 
    • Updating and re-designing print collateral 
    • Develop presentation graphics and formatting to ensure a consistent and high quality look 
    • Direct marketing eblasts — design through production 
    • Training manuals — conception through production 

  • Bachelor of fine art’s degree or bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field.
  • At least five years experience as a graphic artist/creative services manager, preferably in an agency, design studio or in-house corporate marketing.
  • Sports, Entertainment or Consumer Products experience desirable.
  • Strong creative abilities as well as production skills.
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Keynote, and MS Word. Experience with producing HTML5 assets in Google Web Designer or Adobe Animate a plus.
  • Knowledge of PC and Macintosh platforms and peripherals.
  • Extensive knowledge of prepress and production.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to handle details and meet deadlines.
