The Role
This is a full time, industry leading 5 day work week, hourly position with benefits crafted to fulfill the needs of the campus program teaching demands, new camp business, and organization of tennis professionals and lesson plans. The Associate Head Professional will:
- Plan, coordinate and implement high quality lessons, clinics, camps, courses, drop ins, and other tennis programs.
- To assist in setting the standard of professionalism and being the model for on court delivery.
- Establish a fun, upbeat and engaged on court experience for all players.
- Work with the Head of Racquet Sports (HRS) and Head Professionals (HP) to identify areas of growth, options for increased revenue, or issues that need resolution.
- Use self promotion and networking to increase client engagement.
- Teach in all programs, lessons, and camps as assigned.
- Assist the head professionals in curriculum development and lesson plans as needed.
- Assist the head professionals with management of their team of staff professionals.
- Assist in training of staff professionals and fellows. Actively monitoring on court delivery standards and identifying areas for growth.
- Be capable of owning the program in the absence of the Head Professional.
- Be a leader during camps by assisting in the delivery, organization and staff management. Work directly with the Head Professional to elevate, innovate and continually offer relevant and impactful content.
Who You Are
- Available to work a 5 day, full schedule year round, including weekends
- PTR/USPTA Level 2 certification required (or willing to become certified)
- Strong playing skills, 4.0+ rating preferred
- Ability to work with and comfortable being a member of a large staff.
- Proficient computer skills and willingness to use IT
- Ability to be able to adapt to changing conditions is a must.
- Ability to attract clients and build a teaching portfolio with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to receive CPR, AED certifications and undergo a background check
- Ability to serve as a USTA fellowship program and staff professional mentor
Adult Teaching:
- Comfortable working with 4-6 players in a group clinic format
- Ability to run dynamic drop-in tennis sessions with up to 8 players
- Comfortable employing a rally/play/game based learning environment or philosophy
- Ability to lead and drive a learning environment for a large group (20+ guests) by coordinating/directing and managing multiple courts and teaching professionals
- Proficient in Cardio Tennis delivery
- High energy and strong organization skills a must
- Experience training USTA players and teams
- Knowledge of running tournaments and member events a plus
Junior Teaching:
- Prior experience in R-O-G-Y tennis methodology preferred
- Ability to work in a variety of settings such as summer camp, instructional clinics and with children of all ages
- Comfortable working with 4-6 players in a group clinic format

Potential to earn up to $90,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the ability to attract and retain clients.
