Working within the Pro Tennis Operations division of the USTA, a Graduate Intern will work on a project (or projects) that will provide a significant opportunity for experiential learning and and/or development. Through this internship,the intern will have access to opportunities for professional engagement and mentoring by USTA staff in preparation for the 2020 summer tennis season including the US Open.  

The Internship is structured to provide an integrative learning experience that amplifies and complements the intern’s coursework. The projects and activities that the intern will be exposed to include:   
Assist the Director of Player Relations and Manager of Player Services with all US Open prep  
  • Coordinate with all seasonal staff that will be working in player areas, with a focus on Safe Sport complliance, TIU training, uniform distribution, training schedules, etc. 
  • Lead process of interviews and presentation of player research    
 Applicants must be first year Graduate students pursuing a Sports Management concentration. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint; must be organized and able to manage time; strong strategic thinker and self-starter; strong written and oral communication skills; tennis knowledge and events management experience preferred. Applicants who can work through the 2019 US Open are preferred.  


  • The internship runs between the dates of June 8th through August 14th. Being able to stay through US Open preferred.  
  • The pay is $25/hour based on a 32 hours work week.  
  • Intern will have the opportunity for exposure to senior leadership across the organization  
  • No housing provided - intern will have to secure his/her own housing  
  • Relatives of the USTA National Staff will not be considered.   
  • Internship is no guarantee of full time employment
