Compensation: Course credit during spring semester; $2,000 stipend during June

The Travelers Championship is Connecticut’s Signature PGA TOUR event, bringing the world’s best golfers to TPC River Highlands each June. The tournament seeks talented college students searching for a dynamic internship experience. 

Interns will have hands-on experience in a variety of areas that go into organizing a professional sporting event. As an intern, you will work alongside tournament staff and gain exposure to areas of the business including sales, ticketing, operations, and volunteer management. This is a fast-paced, team-driven environment where you will build valuable skills, take on meaningful projects, and play an important role in delivering an award-winning PGA TOUR event. 

Candidates should be highly motivated, detail oriented, dependable, and a team-oriented self-starter.

Time Commitment
  • This internship takes place from January through the beginning of July.
  • A set schedule is required and will be developed after the student's course schedule is finalized for the Spring Semester.
  • Interns must be available daily once the Spring Semester ends through the beginning of July and are expected to be available weekends, evenings, and special occasions including Memorial Day, Father's Day, and college graduation season.
  • The nature of this program is that internship hours may be less demanding earlier in the year, with intensity increasing as the tournament nears.
  • It is difficult and not recommended to maintain additional employment in May and June leading up to the tournament.
  • This internship is a high intensity program and requires an extensive time commitment. We highly encourage students to ask questions during the application and interview process about the commitment level.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must currently reside or be willing to relocate to/near Cromwell, Connecticut, at your own expense.
  • Have a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to commute to main office in Hartford and temporary office in Cromwell.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Have strong, interpersonal skills that complement a proactive, solution driven, team-oriented work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • May require physical work and will sometimes require work in the elements (wind, rain, heat, cold, etc.).
  • Ability to walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time.
Compensation
  • Students may receive course credit during the spring semester and a $2,000 stipend during June.
