The Lead Outside Operations Staff position provides general oversight to outside operations team while delivering critical service to our members and guests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- General knowledge of golf operations and previous experience working in an outside operations position or equivalent preferred
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Greet and welcome members and guests. Assist PGA TOUR players, Members and guests with their golfing needs, ensuring that every step of their golf experience at the club runs as smoothly and is as enjoyable as possible
- Advise supervisor of any member/guest complaints so they can be immediately and professionally resolved
- Assist management staff team in maintaining that the operation is operated in a safe and secure manner. Report any unsafe actions or items to immediate supervisor
- Ensure that members and guests are provided with thoroughly cleaned and good operating cars that are stocked with towels, scorecards, pencils, and divot repair material. Drive dirtied golf cars to the car washing area; wash car, wipe down car, stock golf car with clean towels, pencil, score card, and divot repair material
- Conduct minor preventative maintenance on golf cars and maintain the appropriate records for their maintenance. Routinely inspect golf car batteries and battery chargers to ensure that they are in proper working order
- Ensure that the staging area, golf car facility and starter areas are properly stocked with required supplies, that golf cars are attached to appropriate battery chargers. Maintain responsibility for par stock inventory control on a daily basis. Notify immediate supervisor of any items that need to be ordered or repaired and complete requisition forms for all supplies as needed
- Remove golf bags from member’s and guest's car and load them on a golf cart. Where applicable, drive the golf car to the staging area
- Ensure that players are made aware of the rules and any special or daily play conditions/restrictions on the course. Communicate information clearly and in a pleasant and professional manner. Communicate emergency and safety information to Members and Guests in a calm and professional manner when alarm sounds
- At closing, drive golf cars into golf car facility and plug them into the battery charger
- Ensure that the practice facility is serviced, which may include driving the picker and mechanically picking up golf balls in the area. Set up the practice facility for play. Continually replenish the supply of practice facility balls. Using a golf cart, patrol the practice tee, pick up trash, and practice golf ball bags. Rotate practice facility area in accordance with tee maintenance program. Collect, clean and bag balls at the end of play, ensuring that all range balls are in excellent condition at all times by culling damaged balls
- Communicate by two-way radio controlling start of play, verifying that starting times remain on schedule
- Maintain procedures for opening and closing and securing of all storage areas. Troubleshoot and make recommendations regarding issues relating to business activity, equipment and outside operations
- Assist members and guests with golf equipment as they depart from the club. Ensure that all golf clubs are cleaned by a staff member and that a staff member carries the golf clubs to and places golf clubs in the Member's vehicle
- Maintain an up to date schedule of all golf clubs that are being stored at the club. Provide updated list to the Golf Shop so that they can record storage charges
- Work closely with the Golf Shop staff to ensure that all club rules including dress code and beverage policy are followed by members and guests
- Perform minor repairs to golf clubs. (i.e., replace grips, rewhip shaft, replace shaft and/or realign lie & loft of golf club.)
- Special projects or other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
