The Landscape Foreman is a key position that requires a solid understanding of all landscape operations within the Golf Course Maintenance Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of landscape management as would normally be acquired through a secondary education, or two or three years additional college level course of study or trades training or equivalent experience in the landscape industry 
  • Prior supervisory experience desired 
  • Have a valid certified applicator’s license which is registered in the same state.
  • Be 18 years old and be able to operate a motor vehicle

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Perform all duties and/or tasks relative to the Landscape Gardener I, II, III and IV positions
  • Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and fuel usage of each piece of landscape equipment
  • Clean and inspect old landscape equipment after each use and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager
  • Train the Landscape Gardeners to perform all tasks associated with the Landscape operations of the Golf Course Maintenance department
  • Assist in managing the daily landscape operations 
  • Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards
  • Establish and maintain all records for the landscape management plan for the year
  • Establish and maintain inventory records for all landscape equipment and materials
  • Keep all landscape applications equipment properly calibrated and in good working condition
  • Follow all federal, state and local regulations in regards to landscape care product use, storage, cleanings, disposal, equipment containment and safety regulations
  • Read, understand and interpret MSDS for all landscape care products
  • Share in the overall organization and cleanliness of the landscape operations equipment and maintenance facility
  • Carefully control expenses, performing all functions within the limits of the budget
  • Communicate on a regular basis via a 2-way radio system

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 50 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
