TPC Sugarloaf offers 27 holes of private golf designed by Greg Norman located within the gated community of Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. TPC Sugarloaf’s featured 18 holes, The Stables and The Meadows, are accented by tree-lined Zoysia fairways, Bermuda grass greens, streams, lakes, and hills. TPC Sugarloaf also features The Pines course, a third nine that is slightly shorter in distance, but every bit as compelling as the original pair. TPC Sugarloaf is also host to the PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic.

The Junior Swim Coach assists the Head Swim Coach with the swim-related activities of the Club’s swim program, which may include swim instruction, program implementation and team coaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • At least 6 months previous experience as a swim instructor
  • Must be able to pass swim certification and any other required certifications for swim instructions as applicable
  • First Aid Certified and safety training certification required

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner
  • Conduct regularly scheduled swim programs for the members for swim instruction, team competitions, and special social activities. All events must be coordinated with other Club functions and approved by the Sports Center and/or the General Manager
  • Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas. Maintain and ensure that swim center policies and rules are followed throughout the facility
  • Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid
  • Maintains order in swimming areas
  • Maintain a high profile with members and guests. Positively promote the service philosophy of the Club and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc
  • Assist in maintaining responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of swimming pool area, storage area and merchandise displays
  • Communicate emergency and safety information to members and guests in a calm, clear, and professional manner by telephone or two-way radio in a calm, clear, and professional manner
  • Open and close the swim business operations and facilities using established standard operating procedures
  • Observe swimming performance of members/guests to determine need for individual or team improvement
  • Coach members/guests either individually or in groups to demonstrate swimming techniques
  • Oversee daily practice of members/guests to instruct them in areas of deficiency
  • Determine strategy, independently or in conference with other Swim Team members for members/guests swimming improvement
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
