This position is primarily responsible to provide an exceptional banquet experience for guests in the Catering and Banquet Dining areas. Responsibilities include assigning work schedules, training staff in service procedures. Additional responsibilities include setup and breakdown of banquet & buffet tables, managing service and inventory.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent education, plus two to three additional years of hospitality management or equivalent experience
  •  Thorough knowledge of general business administration practices, state liquor and sanitation laws as applied to food and beverage service operational practices and procedures as would be acquired through at least three years of similar experience in progressively responsible positions. Prior supervisory experience required

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Oversees the hiring, orientation and training of all banquet service staff
  • Works closely with the Banquet Operations Manager, Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef, and Catering Sales Managers, to ensure that the banquet service staff provides immediate and proper attention to the member/guest. Resolve any member/guest complaints immediately and professionally
  • Greet members and guests in a warm, friendly and pleasant manner, making them feel welcome and at ease
  • Directs service in all banquet rooms, evaluating and directing banquet service personnel to ensure that the service standards are met by each server and that each guest is attended in a professional manner
  • Ensures that all food and beverages are served according to specifications as prescribed by banquet contract
  • Ensures the cleanliness, sanitation and proper set up of banquet rooms before, during and after the event
  • Ensures quantity levels of food and beverage products and maintain quality standards in production, services facilities, are consistent with BEO and up to guest’s satisfaction
  • Assumes responsibility as the supervisor on the floor during all banquet functions, ensuring food and service standards are maintained at a very high level
  • Ensures audiovisual and any other special presentation material and equipment is set up and operating prior to the event
  • Ensures proper set-up and break-down of banquet tables, chairs, head tables, display tables, theme decorations and other equipment, as requested in the contract
  • Plans for and writes banquet servers’ schedules based on booked and expected volumes of banquet business
  • Operate within all guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. and assist in the implementation of the PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. mandatory standards of operations as they relate to the Food and Beverage operations
  • Ensures that service procedures are adhered to as outlined in the TPC Brand Standards
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; kneel; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
