The Vice President, Business Development – Corporate Partnerships is responsible for managing the development and execution of the PGA TOUR’s corporate partnership sales strategy, driving new revenue opportunities through the acquisition of strategic marketing partnerships and sponsorship agreements.

This position leads the identification, cultivation, negotiation, and execution of new business opportunities while overseeing day-to-day prospecting efforts, pipeline management, sales processes, and commercial relationship development.

The Vice President works collaboratively across Corporate Partnerships, Media, Events, Studios, International, Legal, Finance, and Corporate Strategy to develop integrated partnership solutions that align with the PGA TOUR’s strategic objectives and deliver long-term value to partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Sports Management, or related field required.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in sponsorship sales, business development, media sales, sports marketing, consulting, or related commercial functions.

  • Demonstrated track record of originating, negotiating and executing complex strategic sponsorship transactions, partnerships or enterprise growth initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams responsible for generating significant annual revenue growth, proven experience negotiating complex, multi-year commercial agreements.

  • Strong understanding of the sports, media and entertainment landscape, including evolving business models, partnership structures and growth platforms.

  • Proven ability to influence across organizations outside of direct reporting relationships and drive alignment among senior stakeholders.

  • Executive presence and communication skills with experience presenting to C-suite executive leadership, Boards and external partners.

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, including experience evaluating strategic opportunities, business models and long-term value creation.

  • Experience recruiting, building and leading high-performing revenue generating teams and fostering a strong, collaborative culture.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organizations and drive cross-functional execution.

  • Strong network and credibility across the sports, media and entertainment ecosystem, including relationships with strategic partners and industry stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the identification, prioritization, and pursuit of prospective corporate partners across targeted industries and growth categories.

  • Develop and execute business development strategies designed to achieve annual revenue and partnership objectives.

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of sponsorship opportunities across the PGA TOUR portfolio.

  • Lead partnership negotiations from initial engagement through executed agreement.

  • Develop innovative commercial solutions that address partner business objectives while maximizing value for the PGA TOUR.

  • Identify emerging market trends, industry developments, and competitive opportunities to inform commercial strategy.

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with prospective partners, agencies, consultants, and industry stakeholders.

  • Serve as a senior representative of the PGA TOUR during business development meetings, industry events, and client engagements.

  • Partner closely with Strategic Alliance partners and key industry relationships to identify new business opportunities.

  • Establish credibility and trust with senior decision-makers to advance complex partnership discussions.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Strategy, Media, Events, Studios, International, and other business units to develop integrated commercial opportunities.

  • Partner with Legal and Finance to structure commercial agreements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Work closely with Sponsor Relations and Commercial Operations teams to support successful transition and activation of newly secured partnerships.

  • Support development of business cases, partnership proposals, presentations, and executive-level recommendations.

  • Lead and develop members of the Business Development team to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and revenue growth

  • Monitor sales performance, forecasting, and business development activity.

  • Support talent development and succession planning within the Business Development organization.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting, forecasting, and opportunity tracking.

  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes, governance standards, and sales best practices.

  • Partner with Commercial Operations leadership to improve efficiency, reporting, and business development effectiveness.

  • Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting activities.
