  • The World Golf Championships - FedEx St. Jude Invitational is seeking a Tournament Operations Intern. This role is based in Memphis, Tennessee and will support the team in the planning, preparation and execution of the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational.
Qualified candidates will have the following: 
  • Education
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) with a major in Sports Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or another related field
  • Event Management experience with exposure to golf tournaments or sports event planning/operations
  • Skills Required 
    • Ability to work in a team environment and have strong interpersonal skills 
    • Must take initiative in project management and problem solving 
    • Capacity to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and remain composed under pressure 
    • Organization, attention to detail and time management 
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, clients, vendors and general public 
    • Labor and lifting required 
    • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Dates and Hours: Mid-April to late July
  • Applicant must be willing to work long hours prior to and during the tournament (event dates are June 29 - July 5) 
    • April and May: 40 hours/week 
    • June: 50 - 100 hours/week 
    • July: 20 - 40 hours/week 

Responsibilities: 
  • Assist and coordinate with vendors on set-up and tear-down of the event including: assisting with location and placement of equipment, organization of equipment and space
  • Develop and maintain new and existing databases and spreadsheets around on-site corporate sponsors, hospitality clients, and vendors
  • Receive and manage shipments from corporate clients and vendors including: managing on-site storage of all items and maintaining tracking of packages and inventory
  • Oversee several tournament areas during event week
  • Special projects as needed or assigned
