Introducing PGA TOUR STUDIOS, a cutting-edge media facility spanning three floors and 165,000 square feet. Opening its doors in January 2025, the facility will house eight spacious production control rooms, eight audio control rooms, and versatile studios. With a five-fold expansion in production capabilities, we're gearing up to strengthen our technical operations team. This team will play a crucial role in supporting PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, PGA TOUR international feed, PGA TOUR Champions and Korn Ferry telecasts, original programming, digital content, creative design and more.

The Director, Technical Operations, PGA TOUR Studios will provide end-to-end technical and operational oversite for the planning and execution of PGA TOUR Studios productions. This role is responsible for all technical facilities, operational staffing, technical equipment acquisition and scheduling for both owned and operated facilities as well as the management of suppliers. In addition, the role serves a customer facing purpose as a key technical point of contact for broadcast partners and other content distributors. Drives the analysis of current operations, establish, and integrate new practices as part of the launch of PGA TOUR Studios and set objectives for business operation, properly allocate budgets, and oversee technicians and engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 10 years' related experience, preferably as a Technical Manger or Engineer in Charge of Network-level Events,

  • 5+ years in budget management preferred

  • A thorough knowledge of IT based studio production, hard and virtual set technology, media workflows, and video file formats is required.

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively make decisions. Excellent communication and organization skills. Strong communication skills and customer interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Direct end-to-end technical and operational planning, oversee execution and reporting for productions produced at PGA TOUR Studios

  • Serve as primary point of contact for Studio and Remote Technical Operations & Engineering staff for PGA TOUR Studios technical and operational matters

  • Anticipates requirements and ensures that technical production personnel and equipment are available and scheduled for upcoming productions.

  • Engage with broadcast partners, federations, service providers and internal resources to develop concepts, proposals, and budgets

  • Responsible for troubleshooting with service providers, engineering and partners as needed

  • Drive and oversee the development and implementation of a technical training program for the launch of PGA TOUR Studios

  • Drive the identification and recruitment of talent, both staff and freelance and create a team environment between staff, freelance and partners

  • Effectively translate and communicate goals and objectives and create / publish key metrics related to PGA TOUR Studios

  • Develop and encourage staff to pursue new tasks and challenges related to overall departmental goals and objectives.

  • Contribute to departmental operations, including staffing, budget management/ cost containment, and internal communication

  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.
