Background:
The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic is a PGA TOUR Champions event and features the legends of golf. The event features a field of 78 professionals on PGA TOUR Champions and will take place September 28 – October 4, 2026, at Lehigh Country Club. The Jefferson Lehigh Valley Classic is operated by HNS Sports Group and Tournaments for Charity. HNS seeks to employ full-time, temporary staff to augment the staff in the Allentown, PA market. These temporary positions provide on-the-job experience in the sports and event management field. The tournament has numerous activities occurring throughout event week. Temporary staff manage many of these elements under the guidance of the tournament staff and thus play an integral role in the success of the tournament.
Description:
The Tournament Services Intern is responsible for assisting the Tournament Services & Activation Manager and Operations Director with the management of volunteers, client services, and operational duties. The tournament has over 900 volunteers that sit on 20+ different committees and 150 corporate partners engaged in sponsorship, hospitality, pro- am, and other special events throughout the week.
Daily Job Responsibilities:
- Communication and public relations with volunteers, corporate partners, and vendors.
- Manage volunteer uniform distribution and training.
- Oversee monthly newsletters to be sent to various constituent groups.
- Assist volunteers and corporate partners with tournament related items including accessing and managing digital tickets and other questions.
- Assist with the execution of the Eagles & Friends Pro-Am, the Official Pro-Am, Honorary Observer program, and additional ancillary events.
- Assists with grassroots marketing campaign, working with local partners to promote the event.
- Develop credential access boards that illustrate the ability to access various areas.
- Coordinate and assist with load-in & logistics for activations inside the Tournament Fan Zone.
- Assist with any additional Tournament Services and Operation related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduating senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university or currently possess a bachelor’s degree.
- Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Communications, or comparable liberal arts majors preferred.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Public relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members, and the public.
- Must take initiative, operate proactively, and think independently in project management and problem solving.
- Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Self-discipline with schedule and time management.
- Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial.
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods and lift/move boxes of supplies potentially weighing 30 pounds.
- Duties are subject to change throughout the work experience.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Canva, and Dropbox.
Compensation:
$12.50/hour
Approximate Employment Dates & Hours:
June 22, 2026 – October 15, 2026
- June 22 – July 10: 24 Hours/week
- July 13 – July 31: 32 Hours/week
- August 3 – September 18: 40 Hours/week
- September 21 – October 4: 40 Hours/week with overtime when applicable; evening and weekend hours will be necessary as tournament time approaches
- October 5 – October 15: 32 Hours/week
