The purpose of the landscape operator is to maintain the landscape appearance to Latrobe Country Club’s cottages and guesthouses. This position supports the golf course operation.
Primary Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
- Installs flowering annuals to guesthouses and cottages as well as support to the golf course, clubhouse, and guest house beds.
- Maintains beds by watering, trimming, dead heading and spraying for pests.
- Edges, rakes, and maintains driveways and walkways.
- Trims trees and shrubbery, cultivates flowers and shrubs.
- Prepares soil and installs vegetative material surrounding areas.
- Operates walking mowers, flymowers, triplex mowers, and transportation vehicles.
- Operates heavy equipment, such as forklift, tractor, spreader, top dressers, aerifiers, backhoe and front end loaders.
- Operates powered mowing equipment on the tees, greens, roughs, and surrounding areas.
- Operates light motorized equipment and trucks in hauling materials and removing debris.
- Grades and prepares base, lays sod, and seeds tees, greens, roughs and fairways.
- Cleans equipment daily.
- Aids in new and reconstructive projects.
- Performs janitorial work in cleaning and maintaining maintenance area, employee break room and locker room.
- Assists with irrigation needs.
- Assists with tennis court and marina grounds.
- Performs all other duties that may be required by management from time to time.

- Ability to communicate in English with staff and members.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and proper record keeping methods.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and provide various reports on a timely basis.
- Knowledge of mechanical operation of trucks and other motorized equipment.
- Knowledge of common construction and maintenance tools.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Possess ability to safely operate all golf course equipment.
- Knowledge of the tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscaped area construction and maintenance work.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 80 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, walking, seeing, hearing, standing, pushing, pulling, feeling, and handling tools and heavy equipment. Overtime required on an as needed basis.
