Albertsons Boise Open presented by Chevron: 
The 34th annual Albertsons Boise Open at Hillcrest Country Club is the first of the three-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals where the top 156 of the best professional golfers in the world will compete for 30 PGA TOUR cards for next season. The list of PGA TOUR players who have routed through Boise on their way to the PGA TOUR is legendary including names like Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantley, Rickie Fowler, Scottie Scheffler, Bubba Watson, Xander Schauffele, Jason Day and many others. 
 
More than just a golf tournament, the event will feature 3 nights of public concerts at Hillcrest Country Club after golf concludes as well as fan hospitality and family friendly events. 
 
The tournament has raised almost $33 Million for charities since 1989 and Golf Channel will broadcast the tournament internationally to more than 800 Million viewers worldwide. 
 
Job Description:
The Albertsons Boise Open Operations Intern is responsible for assisting the team and operations tournament staff with planning and logistics for staging the event. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to work well in a high- pressure environment, must display strong organizational skills, and must show a high level of oral and written communication. 
  
Duties Include: 
  • Oversee the Tournament’s Albertsons Fan Pavilion including replenishment of product and daily maintenance of interior
  • Coordinate projected electrical, generator and cable layout necessary for all hospitality locations, media center and other locations
  • Manage local fuel vendor relationship; handling fuel tank delivery and fuel deliveries
  • Coordinate fencing plan with vendor (locations and dates) for Back of House areas, Driving Range, Generators, TV Compound and other areas with the help of the Assistant Tournament Director
  • Manage television inventory and number of video boards; coordinate delivery, setup and take down of inventory
  • Coordinate delivery, proper placement and service schedule with portable restroom vendor 
  • Support Marketing team as needed with local media 
 
Sponsor Operations:
  • Operations support for sponsorship activation leading up to and during tournament week (i.e. Pro-Ams, Concerts, Junior Clinic & Pancake Breakfast)
  • Responsible for the physical set-up and tear down of various events (i.e. Moving tables, setting up displays/signage, and moving sponsor products) 
 
Coordination: 
  • Tournament Operations
  • Assist with placement and set up of all office trailers
  • Coordinate golf cart inventory, delivery and pickup; create intake plan and work with volunteers during tournament week to ensure proper allocation of carts
  • Maintain shuttle schedule from each off-site parking location
  • Support of staff, PGA TOUR Officials, vendors, and volunteers with the physical preparation of the golf course, tournament site, and off-site areas
  • Track and inventory tournament assets such as radios, signage, and other supplies
  • Inventory storage units
  • Responsible for taking and cataloging operational photos leading up to and throughout the tournament 
  • Assist with daily tournament activities as assigned (i.e. distribution of daily starting times and groupings guides) 
     
Qualifications & Experience: 
  • Student or recent graduate of an accredited four-year college or university or currently possess a Bachelor’s degree 
  • Sports Marketing/Management, Marketing, Management, Communications or comparable liberal arts majors preferred 
  • Eligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Work collaboratively with other departments such as Sponsor Relations, Sales, Marketing, and Volunteers on other projects as assigned 
  • Public relations skills and ability to clearly communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public 
  • Must take initiative, operate proactively and think independently in project management, problem solving, and critical thinking 
  • Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously 
  • Self-discipline with schedule and time management 
  • Organization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial 
  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods and to lift/move boxes of supplies potentially weighing 50 pounds 
  • Must be able to work exceptionally well with others in a close team environment 
  • Must be polite, courteous, and treat all guests and associates respectfully 
  • Must be able to stay calm during stressful or demanding moments 
  • Work extended hours; including nights and weekends leading up to and during the event

 The Operations Internship Dates: August 14th thru August 28th. Our Internship Program offers college/university level students hands-on business experience within various departments during the Albertsons Boise Open.
