AdventHealth Championship Intern 

The AdventHealth Championship is accepting applications for the 2026 Championship Intern Program. The AdventHealth Championship, a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event on the Korn Ferry Tour, is conducted annually at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Mo. This four-day, 72-hole competition features 156 players from around the world vying for a total purse of $1,000,000. As the path to the PGA TOUR, the Korn Ferry Tour features some of the most talented professional golfers who are ready to compete and win on golf’s biggest stage. The 2026 AdventHealth Championship will be held August 17-23 and serve as the last regular season event. For the first time ever, this year’s Championship will be broadcast nationally on The Golf Channel. 

Internship Overview
Championship Interns will work alongside full-time Championship staff on many aspects of the event. Primary areas of concentration will include sales/sponsorship, marketing, operations, volunteers, community programs, tickets, merchandise and overall event execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently on multiple projects, and a willingness to go above and beyond for tournament stakeholders. Interns will be asked to take ownership of key projects and will gain strong professional experience. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in sports, business / event management, marketing, or related field.

Championship Intern Responsibilities/Areas of Exposure
While interns will help with all aspects of the event, each intern will have their own dedicated area of focus. In total, 2-3 candidates will be selected to fill the following categories (note interns will work on 1-2 areas each):

Sponsorship Activation
  • Partner Liaison
  • Pro-Am
  • Prospecting & proposals
  • Contract management & invoicing
  • Asset coordination & fulfillment
  • Hospitality & Sponsor Activation
Skills/traits needed: Driven and outgoing personality with excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with sponsors, vendors and internal teams, and skilled in coordinating logistics, hospitality, and on-site activations. Ability to multitask, detail-oriented and work well with others is a must. Comfortable in guest-facing settings is important. 

Ticket Sales/Management
  • Ticketing fulfillment & servicing 
  • Track & create weekly ticket sales, keeping close eye on inventory
  • Work with Social Media/marketing team to implement ticket offers
  • Provide assistance to ticket buyers, fulfill online orders
  • Oversee and distribute sponsor ticket packages 
  • Tickets for Charity donation program 
Skills/traits needed: friendly and approachable personality with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of juggling multiple tasks and deadlines without sacrificing quality. High level of attention to detail of inventory tracking, fulfillment and ticket holder communication. Team-oriented mentality with ability to adapt to last-minute changes/guest needs.

Skills/traits needed: outgoing and enthusiastic personality with excellent communication skills. Must be adaptable, resourceful, and passion for service. Attention to detail is also a must. Ability to multitask, work well with others, handle logistics/timelines/vendor coordination, manage schedules/roles/responsibilities across diverse volunteer group. 

Operations/Event Management

Skills/traits needed: confident, reliable and detail-oriented personality with the ability to work independently on projects and take ownership when asked. Must be team-oriented, strong communicator with ability to adapt while maintaining high standard of work and positive tone under pressure. Previous operations experience/general understanding of event management is preferred but not required. Manual labor is included, must be able to lift/move heavy items.

Merchandise
  • Assist with merchandise ordering & fulfillment
  • Tournament merchandise
  • Track sales & inventory
  • Fulfill online orders
Skills/traits needed: candidate must be reliable, able to multitask, and possess strong organization and communication skills. High level attention to detail is a must. A team player who works well in collaboration with internal marketing and event staff to ensure smooth execution. Create positive experience for merchandise buyers and guests. 

Application Information
  • The internship is paid and must be part of college curriculum/class credit in order to qualify for the position. 
  • Internship timeframe: Mid-January (flexible depending on availability) through August 28, 2026.
  • Hours: For the first three months 20-30 hours per week, then increased hours thereafter with a full workload in the last 4-6 weeks leading up to the event. Additional hours may be required for certain events throughout the internship.
