Position Summary/Objective: The employee will generate tournament sponsorships and work with these sponsors to execute and fulfill all the deliverables in their tournament sponsorship agreements.  This will include all tracking, delivery, execution, and maintenance to meet and exceed client expectations.  
 
Employee must be an excellent communicator, have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, can work without supervision and meet deadlines, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Candidate will report directly to the Tournament Director.
 
 
Essential Functions

1.     Use variety of methods and resources to creatively engage with and enhance partner relationships, using industry knowledge and brand awareness to overcome challenges, create business opportunities and exceed company objectives.
2.     Sell portfolio of corporate sales products including: sponsorships, hospitality, publications, and pro-ams.
3.     Prospect, generate leads, develop relationships, negotiate, and close new business clients.
4.     Leverage existing individual network, community service groups and other lead generators.  Associate will not receive many leads from tournament, club members, title/event/club vendors, or TOUR official partners.
5.     Develop a robust pipeline with probability of closing to ensure volume necessary to attain individual and tournament revenue goals. 
6.     Manage daily and weekly sales activity including outbound calls, face-to-face appointments, proposals sent, attending networking functions, production of contracts and internal sales meetings.
7.     Employ sales protocol that encompasses multi-year and early renewal strategies.
8.     Educate clients throughout the year on how to fully leverage their participation to maximize ROI/ROO.
9.     Presents ideas and opportunities to help grow tournament partnerships by keeping current with goals, objectives and the competitive corporate landscape in the market.
10.  Weekly reporting to tournament teams and monthly to PGA TOUR on sales to-date.
11.  Works with Finance to ensure timely invoicing and collections.
12.  Other duties as assigned.

1.     Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is required.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of professional sales experience with a consumer brand, agency, sports property or venue required.  Corporate sales and marketing experience preferred. This is a Commission Based Only Position.

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, advertising, or sports management (or similar field) from four-year college or university required.
 
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.: Previous sales experience in sports preferred.
 
Work Environment
Nine months per year – 40 hours/week with general exceptions related to special projects and evening/weekend networking and host organization functions.  Two months per year – 40-55 hours/week with general exceptions related to special projects and evening/weekend networking and host organization functions.  Three weeks per year – 50-60 hours/week.  Ten days per year – 18-19 hours/day. Employee must be willing to work occasionally evenings or weekends in addition to the 10-day tournament week period.
 
Travel
Position may require travel to external events.
