PGA REACH Philadelphia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2018 as the charitable arm of the Philadelphia PGA Section, one of the 41 Sections within the PGA of America. PGA REACH Philadelphia is committed to serving our communities and growing the game of golf through our three pillars: Youth, Military, and Diversity.
The Philadelphia PGA Section, covering eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is one of 41 geographical managing entities of the PGA of America. This Section manages nearly 900 PGA Members and Associates who are employed at over 590 golf facilities in the region. The individual employed in this position shall act on behalf of the Philadelphia Section of the PGA of America and PGA REACH Philadelphia and report to the Assistant Executive Director.

OPPORTUNITY: PGA REACH Philadelphia/Philadelphia PGA Section is offering an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable insight into the administrative aspect of the golf business by hiring a candidate from a historically underrepresented group to work on our team for a six-month term.

JOB TITLE: PGA WORKS Fellowship
MANAGER'S TITLE: Assistant Executive Director

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary focus of this position will be to assist PGA REACH Philadelphia in executing PGA REACH programs in the Youth, Military and Diversity & Inclusion pillars. National PGA REACH program examples include:
● MILITARY Pillar | PGA HOPE – PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH and is designed to introduce golf to veterans with disabilities in order to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
  • PGA HOPE Philadelphia Tour - Presented by PGA Tour SuperStore established as a next step opportunity for PGA HOPE Graduates to play competitively.
● YOUTH Pillar | PGA Jr. League – PGA Jr. League is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls ages 13 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. The kids learn the game among their peers with professional instruction and direction from PGA/LPGA Professionals who serve as team captains. Parents also play an active role, making the program a family activity and creating another generation of players to enjoy the game.
● YOUTH Pillar | Golf in Schools – The objective of the Golf in Schools program is to teach kids the basic fundamentals of the game as well as the mental and physical health benefits that this lifelong sport provides. The curriculum is broken down into 5 lessons which cover golf swing fundamentals, teaching techniques, in-class activities/games and valuable life skills that golf incorporates. The school is given the SNAG Golf kit equipment to use for the program at no cost and PGA Professionals assist in delivering the program through teacher training sessions and in-class instructional visits.
● DIVERSITY & INCLUSION Pillar | Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour Diversity Scholarship – PGA REACH Philadelphia offers scholarship opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate on the elite Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour (PJT) circuit for kids ages 18 and under. The PJT, provides valuable opportunities for young golfers to get out and play, leads the region in competitive junior golf with over 80 events seasonally held at many of the areas top facilities. The PJT hosts four major championships throughout the season; including nationally ranked events that provide exposure for junior golfers looking to play at the next competitive level.

● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
● While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
● The employee must be able to drive the company vehicle/van and/or drive to and from various locations throughout the Section.

Experience Required
● Undergraduate degree
● Valid Driver’s License
● Transportation
● Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
● Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word & Excel and Google Suite
● Skills in social media marketing and communications
● Well-organized, punctual, and energetic
● Ability to work in a team environment and travel
● Ability to work overtime including weekends
● Ability to be flexible. 

Essential Responsibilities
MINIMUM JOB DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS:
PGA WORKS Fellowship duties include but are not limited to:
● Assisting the PGA REACH Philadelphia with all aspects of PGA REACH (if applicable) and Philadelphia PGA Section programming including communications logistics, site and member recruitment, promotions, scheduling, sponsor activation, budgeting, billing, and event execution.
● Assisting the PGA REACH Philadelphia marketing and communications team to ensure PGA REACH and Philadelphia PGA Section foundation activities that occur in the PGA Section are documented and reported to national PGA REACH social media and public relations resources as well as PGA Section resources.
● Assisting the fundraising efforts of PGA REACH Philadelphia
● Assist with PGA programming and operations including: communications with PGA Professionals and military services centers, tracking and reporting, veteran volunteer program, and marketing/PR.
● Assist with the recruitment of PGA Members for and promotion of PGA Jr. League.
● Assist in the day-to-day responsibilities of managing the PGA REACH Initiative including: partner organization communications, tracking and reporting, and marketing/PR.
● Assist with the setup, execution, and management of PGA Drive Chip & Putt Qualifiers.
● Assist with PGA REACH Philadelphia Foundation marketing, communications and PR including: website updates, social media, creative marketing, and email communications.
● Assist PGA REACH Philadelphia and PGA WORKS (national) in the awareness of the PGA WORKS Fellowship to help attract new candidates for the Philadelphia PGA Section Fellowship.
● Assist with PGA Championship 2026 admin and volunteer

Benefits
●$20 hour/40 hours a week
● The Foundation will provide an assigned laptop, staff uniforms, and will cover event/competition related travel expenditures (hotel, meals, etc.) while on assignment. An employee in this position will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week.
