Responsible for providing accounting and financial services to the PGA of America sections including managerial and financial reporting.  Responsibilities also include review and analysis of  general ledger activity, preparation of the balance sheet reconciliation, budget variance analysis, and month-end reporting. 

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Prepare bank and general ledger reconciliations.

Analyze and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger.

Prepare managerial and financial reports for Section offices.

 

Provide support as needed to Executive Directors and Section Staff.

 

Account analysis and reconciliations.

 

Work with accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure processing is timely and accurate.

 

Track fixed assets and review depreciation schedules.

 

Perform month/Quarter-end closings

 

Assist Sections in the preparation and the review of annual operating budget.

 

Prepare Financial Statements.

 

Review Financial Statements with the Section Executive Director.

Involvement in team wide initiatives and special projects.

Bring forth ideas to enhance and improve processes and procedures.

SUPERVISION: 

No supervisory responsibilities.  

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:  

           

Assist in the development of section accounting department budgets. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor's degree: (B. A.) in Accounting. 

Four  years of experience in Accounting, with GL experience required. Workday Financials experience is strongly preferred along with PGA Accounting

software(s) experience preferred, such as Bluegolf, Golf Genius and Adaptive.   

Certified Public Accountant preferred. 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Must have knowledge of accounting processes and procedures (GAAP) and process flows, along with month-end close procedures.  Must have knowledge of Financial Information Systems.  Must have knowledge of calculating figures and amounts.  Must have the ability to support 3 - 4 Sections.  Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.  Working knowledge of Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs. Basic fluency in artificial intelligence (AI) tools and concepts. This includes using AI to enhance business operations and drive innovation, enabling us to better serve our Members and stakeholders
